COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied Triple IPA, Green Bullet combines New Zealand grown Pacific Gem and Green Bullet hops. Significant pine and citrus hoppiness hit the palate at first sip, accentuated by tropical notes of mango and pineapple, ending with a moderately aggressive, bitter finish.

Tap at the Ginger Man, NYC, 18/05/13. Nose is hops, caramel malt, citrus, bitter orange, hint of pine. Taste comprises hops, pine resin, caramel malt, sugars, bitter fruits, citrus. Full bodied with fine carbonation pitched at a level to keep this drinkable. OK DIPA - not too much depth to it or ’wow’ factor but delivers the goods.

Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear copper color with a large off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of herbal, resin and tropical hop notes. The taste is herbal. resin, citrus hops with a nice malt backbone. Medium bodied. Quite nice.

651mL fresh bottle from La Bodega. Pours clear, deep orange copper. Large, yellow foam. Great retention and lace. Nose is softer than expected with a lot of butterscotch, toffee, brown sugar, sweet alcohol. Taste is juicy, thick butterscotch and toffee. Medium, dark warming alcohol. Much easier to drink than expected. Not really a chewy, dank hop bomb.

Deep golden pour with a fast fading, thin white head. The aroma is pretty light - a bit of citrusy hoppiness and a bit of tropical fruit. Assertive bitterness wrapped in a malty sweet shell. The hops are fairly faded in this bottle (sadness) but there is a fairly bright piney character. The alcohol is pretty well hidden and they’ve done a nice job at keeping the malt sweetness down. Has a lingering herbal/grassy component. Damn - I wish I had a fresh bottle.

On draught at Petrol Station. The beer is a dark orange-gold color with a medium white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is fruity with hops and pine notes. Full, chewy body with flavors of piney hops, tropical fruit and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Bottle. Lots of gum, tropical fruit / guava / mango, bell pepper, light solvent when warm, some dirty ethanol, resin and orange oil. I can see similarities to Nelson and other Kiwi hops with such a strong tutti-frutti bubble gum and floral tropical fruit aroma. I think the design was to have high acid hops cut the sugary malt, okay so it does that well, but that’s what double IPA often is. I picked this up in order to give Green Bullet hops another try but i definitely don’t think much of them. Better than Cites or Mosaic but nothing like Nelsons for me in this beer. The nice thing is that the body is soft, the carbonation low and creamy, just too sweet and too bitter.

Bottle. Pours with a clear, medium gold hued body with a small white head. Some particles. Great lace. Aromas are of pine, strong fruits, pomelo, tamarind, resin and dates. Mild malt (cereal) and ethanol sweetness. Flavors are slightly bitter, odd hop flavors: citrus, pine, raisin and bug spray with tamarind. Light grainy malt. Immediately warming. Dry finish, quite boozy, ethanol sweetness. Decent.

Bottles from Wegmans and Capone’s. Pours hazy dark straw toward gold with frothy off-white head. Nose is peppery hops, florals, mango and pineapple citrus. Tastes crisp, with mostly tropical fruity hops up front, some late peppery notes and a good balance.
