COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied Triple IPA, Green Bullet combines New Zealand grown Pacific Gem and Green Bullet hops. Significant pine and citrus hoppiness hit the palate at first sip, accentuated by tropical notes of mango and pineapple, ending with a moderately aggressive, bitter finish.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2013 On tap. Totally clear orange golden color. Thin off-white head, with good retention, leaves good bits of lace. Big piney hop flavor, tropical fruit, spicy and caramel malts. Nice smooth lighter carbonation. Bigger body. Lightly dry finish, sort of sticky. Moderate bitter taste, light alcohol warmth in the finish, light somewhat spicy sweet taste. Solid big imperial IPA, but like a lot of "triple IPAs", this one has a pretty pronounced malt profile. A very big body, one to sip, not the most drinkable, but an interesting, unique hop profile to it. Worth trying, but I wouldn’t repeat it for the price.

Bottle at Andy’s for New Years Eve. Pours a clear golden orange with a thin to medium sized white head. Big bold caramel and citrus on the nose, a huge toffee and baking cookies note. Medium-bodied, aggressive hops, long lingering grapefruit finish with some warming alcohol. Nice.

Bottle. Slight haze in this golden yellow pour. White spotty head. Pine and pineapple aroma and taste. Would never guess double digit ABV. Nice beer.

On tap at Beer Revolution, Calgary. Hazy medium golden body, creamy white head that retains nicely. Oily, piney hop profile, earthy and pungent. Oily mouthfeel, with somewhat restrained bitterness.

Draft at The Lackman, served in a snifter. Pours a clear, deep gold with a small white head that leaves streaks in the glass. Aroma of marijuana, very herbal and peppery - maybe it’s the ’Green Bullet’ name, but this has me thinking of straight hop pellets. Same in the flavor, which has onion, herbs, and chives. Medium-bodied, with a bitter, herbal mouthfeel that has balancing malts and a boozy finish. Moderate carbonation. Big, interesting double IPA. Better than indicated by the word of mouth I’ve heard recently.

My Bottom Line:
Muddled malts and tired hops ride this Barley-Wine like creature’s oily mouthfeel, leaving room for resinous hops, alcohol warmth and quiet sugars.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the cloudy pale amber.
-This is certainly flavourful, but the entire flavour profile felt past its prime even though the brew was still within its ‘best by’ date.
-Some of the hops provide citrusy fruitiness, but it is far from being of a bright and juicy nature .
-This still serves its purpose as an evening sipper.

Bottle.

Deep golden pour with a fast fading, thin white head. The aroma is pretty light - a bit of citrusy hoppiness and a bit of tropical fruit. Assertive bitterness wrapped in a malty sweet shell. The hops are fairly faded in this bottle (sadness) but there is a fairly bright piney character. The alcohol is pretty well hidden and they’ve done a nice job at keeping the malt sweetness down. Has a lingering herbal/grassy component. Damn - I wish I had a fresh bottle.

Pour out of 375 mL bottle, clear orange pour with white head, not lacing but lasting, aroma brought notes of big tropical fruit, nice grapefruit, zesty lemon notes, hints of pineapple, slight biscuit and bread in there as well. Taste is a mix of big pineapple, pine, grass, into grapefruit and orange, sweet jammy notes into caramel, toffee, slight biscuit, hints of zest, finishing fairly bitter, slightly sweet.

355 ml bottle @ Kaisla.
Pours hazy orange color with a small head. Aroma of pine, resin and hops. Flavor of caramel malts, some resinous hops and sweet fruits. Surprisingly lot of booze on this one, doesn’t come through too much though.

Draught at Faucets. Nice caramel, chocolate, citrus, grass nose. Bright amber. Nicely sweet flvor, good hops. Big and heavy. Very nice, though somehow GF hoppy beers are not making be excited much anymore.
