3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brewer’s Haven in Boise has 12ozers and 22’s... Glad I only got a small bottle. Great looking brew... 2 finger off white head atop a clear dark golden liquid... nice lacing and retention.
Nose is all onion/garlic hoppiness... thick and a bit offputting IMO.
Flavor mirrors the aroma with a thick bitterness that lasts and lasts.
Body is expected thicker side of medium but plenty of small bubble carbonation abounds too.
Okay, but just not my cup of beer... I just don’t appreciate the onion/garlic hoppiness nor the burps that continue for 30 minutes after the bottle is gone.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear orange rust colour. Strong mango, pineapple, fruitty aroma with some burning alcohol. Malt body is syrupy sweet, alcohol pretty present, but a nice very bitter, but nicely masked beer.

Really good beer, and my first TIPA. Has more earthy notes to go along with the typical West Coast IPA flavors. Hides the alcohol pretty well and it's definitely unique.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle (Best before 3/14) - Lightly hazy deep golden amber with a filmy off white head. Nose is oniony and fruity, with pine and sweet bready malt. Definitely some rubbing alcohol too. So that’s off-putting. Taste is a bit metallic, with more oniony hops, some boozy fruitiness, and a sharp piney finish. More alcohol sharpness on the finish--the 10.1% is not well hidden. Leaves a sticky, resiny feel in the mouth. Thick and slick, with medium carbonation. Man...I just have not been impressed with the Green Flash I’ve had so far.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Twisted Jimmy’s. Terrific hop aroma, funky, grassy and herbal. Mild sweet notes. Heady and wonderful nose. Golden amber clear with thin white head. Medium-full body with medium-high carbonation. Mellow malt character, sweet but not cloying. Big hop flavor and huge bitterness throughout. Bitter after.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle, 0.355 l - best by 04/01/14, at Kaisla, 20131211) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized, dense and white. Aroma had fruitiness, tangerine, pine and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, grass, sweetness, malts, resin and bitterness. Afteraste was hoppy, boozy and bitter. Mostly booze and bitterness mildly balanced by sweetness and maltiness, but not enough.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dràft at Pony Bar HK with street. Pours a clear amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is funky melon and fruits - almost putrid, but in a good way. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet, funky dank hops. Really nice, comes off as an imperial Nelson beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The aroma is hops citrus, floral/grass. Pours a clear golden with large white frothy head, mostly diminishing. The taste is bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter and long. A very good IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On two at Mad Mex Robinson. Delicious beer! Aroma was hot and heavy. Strong grapefruit, lemon and dank earthiness with pine. A hop explosion. Pour was a dark gold with a one and a half finger near white head. Taste was delicious. Strong mix of pine, grapefruit and lemony hops. Very hot. A slight malt backbone keeps the beer wet and semisweet. The finish is an onslaught of hot alcohol and bitter grapefruit. Nice carbonation and great beer

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from ABC Fine Wine and Spirits in Hudson. Pours a clear orange-copper color with a fading white head. Nose is big syrupy malt, some fruity, citrusy bitterness, some citrus, pineapple, lemon, mango, and some tropical fruit with some nose-burning alcohol on the back. Flavor starts off syrupy malt, tropical fruit, some big sweet citrus, then moves to malt, booze, then finishes a few seconds after the swallow with brutal white grapefruit bitterness. Medium in body, the booze is pretty well hidden, and the sweetness and fruitiness is interesting.
