COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: If you had the 8.1% abv version marketed since 2014 as a Double Red India Pale Ale, this is the wrong beer page. Please rate under Green Flash Hop Head Red Double IPA (2014 -). Resinous hop characteristics emerge from an enormous hopping with Columbus, Nugget and Amarillo overtaking the rich caramel malt base. To add luscious
hop flavors and enticingly floral hop aromas, we dry-hop the brew with bucket loads of Amarillo hops. Welcome to the world of Red IPA.

Red-amber with big, foamy beige head / Big nose of fresh cut pine and weed / Medium body, chewy with sharp, biting hops and long finish / Flavors of fresh cut pine, weed, resin, grapefruit, and burnt sugar / Perfect, but no amber ale. It’s an IPA.

Fabulous beer! Big, hoppy, malty, grainy, sweet, delicious. If there were no other beers left in the world but this one. I would be perfectly happy with it. It’s that good.

Green Christmas tree aroma is off the charts! Delightfully clear reddish amber in color with a thick head and oozing lace. Lots of caramel sweetness and crystal malts to balance the green hoppiness. Somewhat creamy. Resinous finish. It’s like the beer gods are smiling on me.

Perfect red IPA. I really don’t have much else to say except that if you try it you may just stick with it forever. Awesome! No dings...but saved room in rating in case I find a better one...doubt it though

Wow. This beer makes me hoppy (lol). I didn’t see the pour, so I can’t say anything about that. What I can say is, when I took my first sip, I smiled . . . a big hoppy smile. The color is like a lovely redhead with a touch of auburn. Not much in the way of head, but lots of grapefruit in the flavor. I would definitely have this again. Maybe paired with mahi-mahi with lime?

Une belle bière rouge ambrée. Un juste équilibre entre arômes maltés et houblons. Le dry hop à l’amarillo apporte de belles touches d’agrumes. Une très belle réalisation!

Tasted at the Brewery in Vista, CA--Rich amber body with a bold, frothy whitish head. Floral hop aroma. More floral than bitter. Well built. One of the best beers to date!
