This is a strong version of Hop Head Red that was introduced in Spring 2014. Alcohol has changed from 7% to 8.1% and the beer is Double Red India Pale Ale. The old 7% has been discontinued.

On tap at whole foods pub. Reddish amber modest head nice balance with a slight edge to hops. Not as sweet as lucky 13 which I thought too sweet

Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of HOPS, and some other hints, maybe fruit, maybe coffee. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and hoppy as hell.

12 oz bottle. BB 13/Oct/2015. From thebeershop-online.com.
Clear mahogany red color with a small light tan head. Hops, sweetness, dry wood, mild bitterness and caramel sweetness in the aroma. The flavor is dark hops, fruitiness, mild berries, mild bitterness, malt and some alcohol. Next time fresh.

Hazelnut pour with thin head and moderate fine carbonation. Rich malty flavor and texture. Hops come gently in but build to a pleasant melange of citrus and spice. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mahogany pour with a dark tan head. Aroma is caramel malt and fruity hops. Taste is a caramel malt base surrounded or encircled by hop flavor. Fruity, a little resinous. Caramel malt in aftertaste still melding with hops. So tasty. Nice lacing.

Poured from the bottle, part of a variety pack with 2 others. Looks red/brown with a nice white head and lacing. There is plenty of hop flavor and some sweet that comes behind it, spicy, boozy, malty, and mouth watering, not to mention strong, all the food groups represented here.
