4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft at Green Leafe tavern. Pours deep coppery ruby with off-khaki head. Nose is intense hops, rye malt, mild vinous fruit and peppery notes. Tastes full bodied, rich, with a well balanced rye malty and hoppy presence. I had this with gazpacho, and it paired amazingly well with that.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Aroma: Aroma: Nice fruity hoppiness with notes of orange and apricot, floral and light spice. A good amount of maltiness with a large dose of caramel. Some light breadcrust. Appearance: Deep reddish amber bordering on copper in color. Nice clarity. Bone colored head was full and foamy with great retention and lacing. Flavor: Hop forward with notes of apricot, resin, orange, and floral. A bit of caramel and breadcrust. Bitterness kicks in soon and lingers for a bit after the finish. Finishes dry. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. A bit of astringency on the tongue. Overall: Nice beer. Smooth and very drinkable with a nice hop kick.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer pours a deep reddish amber with a medium off white head. First thing you notice is that this beer appears to be unfiltered which seems kinda unusual for a red ale... The aroma is light grass/grapefruit which is great for a hop head such as myself. The flavor is the same and is quite dry as it should be. This is a very good offering from green flash. I really liked this one! Cheers

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
I dont’ really like amber ales but the fact that this one’s name suggested extra hops, I thought i would give it a try. It pours cloudy reddish brown and has a cool little layer of ultra fine head that never goes away. It smells really malty. all i can smell really. The mouthfeel is lively, thick, very well done. The hops I can taste in there somewhere in the middle, but not really standing out much to me, i get a slight bitter aftertaste... not nearly dry enough for my liking, subsides quickly and leaves my mouth tasting like a can of malt extract. This beer is really well done and I could actually drink this again, just not my style.. I had their IPA and loved it by the way. rating that one next!

bronze body with a nice light brown head.as the head rests it leaves thick webbing on the glass.the aroma is a nice blend of citurs hops, juicy fruit gum, caramel malts, and what i would call "the forest.flavor is brings in the caramel first, with the citrus and some root beer at the end.its slightly bitter from the hops.

7-1-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to stefanje
Thick murky brown with a nice ivory head and good lacing. Smell is nice malt and hops and a touch of rye. A good balance. Nice flavor of hops and rye. It has this great orange and rye combination that works very well. Bitter with a sweet orange aftertaste. Thick smooth palate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with lots of sediment and an average to large size lasting foamy off-white head. Hmmm, all the other ratings say theirs is clear, I wonder if I got an old bottle? I thought this was a pretty new beer? Oh well, no date on the bottle so who knows. Nice aroma of sweet malt and a resiny hop medley (grassy, piney and citrusy) along with some grain and fruit. Flavour follows the aroma with sweet malt and resiny hops, nicely balanced, and with a long dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. Carbonationís just right for the style. Great stuff, easy to drink and no sign at all of this being past itís due, Iím glad I have more!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at The Red in Santa Cruz. Poured into a nonic. Dark copper but not too dark to see that it’s perfectly clear. Light tan head leaves ample lacing. Aroma is on the hoppy side, with a rather herbal quality coming through more so than the typical grapefruit. Flavor is similar. Lots of dry leafy hops with a touch of citrus, and only a bare minimum malt profile. Lack of malt makes this beer thinnish.
