Commercial Description:
Resinous hop character and bitterness balance the rich caramel malt base. We took it a step further and Amarillo dry hopped the brew to 45 IBUs, creating refreshing and savory hop flavors and aromas. Is it Red IPA? That’s your call.

(Bottle at Hilpeä Hauki, Helsinki, on 2009-04-17) Dark reddish brown. Almost clear. Malty and fruity aroma. Small white head. Full bodied and dry palate with medium carbonation. Malts, bitterness, fruitiness, lots of hops and bitterness in taste. Malty and bitter aftertaste.

12 oz bottle from hellbilly. Great extra! Pours a murky rusty pour, dark, with a tannish moderate head that laces some. A pretty impressive pour. Aromas are a little lighter than expected, pushing some carmel malts and floral hop nose. Ok, I guess. Initial preaches some nice citrusy lemon and grapefruit hop, light florals, and carmel malts to balance (but not enough). Mellow, with good hopping. I don’t like amber style beers, but this is sessionable and flavorful, with out overbearing carmel malts. Lingering citrusy finish with light sweetness. Good sessioner. Cheers!

Dark amber pour with a beige head. Pine vanilla and cherry or dark fruit aroma. Smooth creamy sweet then bitter. Very balanced and excellent bold taste for an amber.

Tap at Sacramento Brewing Co. Robust hop nose. Taste is very bitter with roast but no malt sweetness to balance it out. Bitterness lingers long on the palate.

Bottle. Pour is a deep red-brown with an extremely thin tan head. Aroma is basically caramel w/ a slight hint of grass. Tastes of caramel and toast with some slight dark fruit. Mouthfeel is relatively weighted with a dry, bitter finish.

Thick cloudy orange brown color with a thin off-white head. Hoppy aroma with fruit and caramel. Flavor of caramel and dark fruit with a dry hoppy finish.
