nbutler11 (731), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Feb 7, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep red color, as advertised, with a beige head. Smells a lot like an IPA, with plenty of floral hops and citrus. tastes much the same, with a nice malt profile to balance out the bitterness of the hops. Not bad at all. seanbhudson (54), , California, USA Feb 5, 2009 Updated: Feb 7, 2009APPEARANCE:
Pours a hazy copper color with a medium size tan head that dissipates at slowly. Lots of sticky lacing.
SMELL:
Big hops aroma (pine and citrusy grapefruit). Sweet caramel comes through too.
TASTE:
Taste similar to aroma with hops the predominant flavor. This is balanced with some toasty malts and caramel sweetness. Finishes with grapefruit bitterness that lasts awhile.
MOUTHFEEL
Medium to full body with slightly syrupy texture and then finishes dry. Soft carbonation.
DRINKABILITY:
Big flavorful hoppy beer that has enough sweetness to give it nice drinkability. The only drawback is the long lasting bitter finish that keeps it from becoming a session beer.

nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Feb 2, 2009 Pours an awesome red color with a beige head. Floral hoppy aroma, along with some sweet malt. This basically tastes like a well-done west coast IPA along with the malt character you expect from an amber ale. Nice satisfying citrusy finish with medium-to-full mouthfeel for the style. I’m starting to like these Green Flash guys. chillyice (13), Rio Nido, California, USA Jan 30, 2009 Ruby red, strongly hopped with a taste of malt still poking through. Great aroma. A well balanced hoppy beer. watson1977 (250), , Pennsylvania, USA Jan 27, 2009 very nice cloudy ruby pour with a thick light tan head and some nice thin lacing. sweet resinous aroma...notes of pineapple and grapefruit and a hint of maltiness. flavor is piney and follows through with grapefruit. mouthfeel is thick and silky smooth with a dry ligering grapefruit finish. awesome beer. tomthompson89 (1460), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 25, 2009 wow great hop beer, nose is awsome. Amber color with good lace. nose is piney and citrus hops. flavor follows through with citrus and pine... good malt backbones great amber ale clong83 (243), San Diego, California, USA Jan 22, 2009 Aroma of breadiness and hops. Tastes of pine resin and is quite sticky and spicy, but not overly hoppy. Caramel notes on the malts. SOme citrus tones as well, but subdued. Very nice. NobleSquirrel (1101), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 20, 2009 Bottle via trade with Stefanje. Pours a nice red brown, slightly hazed with offwhite head that dissipates to a sticky film on top of beer and on glass. Nose has underlying bread-notes that are quickly covered by a touch of dust then big juicy Amarillos. Peach and mango comes up. On taste, hop flavor is quite subdued, though this is a well structured amber ale that doesn’t use crystal malt as a crutch. Nice bitterness, slightly astringent. A little floral, though I wish I had more fruitiness to this, would make it outstanding. Still, as it stands, a very respectable Amber. Very nice.
