Tastes of pine resin and is quite sticky and spicy, but not overly hoppy. Caramel notes on the malts. SOme citrus tones as well, but subdued. Very nice. NobleSquirrel (1106), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2009 Bottle via trade with Stefanje. Pours a nice red brown, slightly hazed with offwhite head that dissipates to a sticky film on top of beer and on glass. Nose has underlying bread-notes that are quickly covered by a touch of dust then big juicy Amarillos. Peach and mango comes up. On taste, hop flavor is quite subdued, though this is a well structured amber ale that doesn’t use crystal malt as a crutch. Nice bitterness, slightly astringent. A little floral, though I wish I had more fruitiness to this, would make it outstanding. Still, as it stands, a very respectable Amber. Very nice. homeslice (36), , California, USA

Smells of honey, citrus, and grapefruit. Not as harsh as their West Coast IPA. Quick bitter bite followed by citrus, sweet hops and a mellowing conclusion. A mild version of the WCoast with a sweeter scent. unclemattie (2401), Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Bottle. Low but lasting creamy off-white head. Hazy amber body. Powerful hops aroma with notes of grapefruit. Same with the flavor, maybe the hops bitterness is a bit dominant but I do like it. Relatively high carbonation and a long aftertaste.
