Commercial Description:
Resinous hop character and bitterness balance the rich caramel malt base. We took it a step further and Amarillo dry hopped the brew to 45 IBUs, creating refreshing and savory hop flavors and aromas. Is it Red IPA? That’s your call.

The beer poured a deep red in color with small bubbles fro the head. the hops were nicely evident and balenced with thw malt. It was pleasure to drink. Smooth with a medium body. I need to learn how Simcoe hops compare to cascade.

Pours a deep copper/ amber color with an oily off-white head. Aroma is slightly sweet with heavy grapefruit, slight pine, and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is sour orange with some biting hops. Finish is lingering dry hops.

Bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours amber with a one finger off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, sweet malt, and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Very good.

Draught at Woodys in Downtown Raleigh. Pours reddish-brown, with an off-white medium frothy head. Has an aroma strong with hops and some caramel, sugar, roasted malts. Flavor is very hoppy with a decent malt backbone. Definitely woth having again.

pours copper/brown, tan head. Aroma and taste, loaded with fruity hops and fruits with additional caramel and malts. Too much hops for my tastes.

Bottle... Poured cloudy red with a beige head. Strong hops on the nose. Well carbonated and very dry which complemented the hop flavors. Other earthy spices and sweet floral flavors with plum or prunes in the finish.

On tap at Stone bistro. Pours a hazy brown ruby with a foamy off-white head that was long lasting. Nose is of citrus hops and caramel, some malt sweetness with a candy fragrance in the background. Taste starts with a nice hop bitterness with a taste of toasted malt and dark bread, faint malt sweetness and caramel flavors. Finishes with a medium dryness and fine carbonation and not to much either. I really enjoyed this one, another fine North County brew!

Red amber. Thick head. Fruity hop[y scent with a strong malt presence. Woody hop flavour with a bit of a twist.
