Commercial Description:
Resinous hop character and bitterness balance the rich caramel malt base. We took it a step further and Amarillo dry hopped the brew to 45 IBUs, creating refreshing and savory hop flavors and aromas. Is it Red IPA? That’s your call.

Pours a nice hazy golden amber color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger creamy tan head, with some very nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is hoppy with a nice balance of malt, with some nice citrus/pine notes. The taste is hoppy, slightly sweet, malty, nice citrus/pine notes. Medium body. Very drinkable, this is another awesome GF brew.

12oz bottle pours clear amber with a tan foam surface looking like the surface of the moon. The aroma has brown ale type notes only much bolder. I get tasty roasty and nutty notes mixed with caramelized malts. In the background are mild citrus, earthy, pine and a pinch of spicy hop qualities. The taste is bigger than the nose hinted at with an initial rush of pine hop bitterness, roasty malts and growing hazel nuttiness. I start to get sweet crystal malts and mild citrus hops rising up around the midway point. It ends with lingering juicy nectar like nuttiness laced with pine hop bitterness, wow. This is good.

In short: Some kind of super-malted IPA-ish brew. As rich as it is refreshing
How: Bottle 12oz, consumed fresh soon after receiving it from HogTownHarry. Thanks a lot Harry, that was a kick ass beer
The look: Very cloudy orangy brown body topped by a small beige head
In long: You can tell from the nose that this is a rich beer with its rich toffee-caramel with resinous hops. Taste is just as kick-ass. The malt bill on this one is top notch. Extremely rich fruity caramel with toffee notes. Body is just as full as it can be for the style. And that rich body is perfectly balanced by a ton of floral and resinous hops. Some of it reminds of my beloved Bear Republic Hop Rod. The most impressive aspect of this beer is how refreshing it is despite its extra-rich malt caramel, that beer is so rich that a single bottle could buy a whole six-pack of itself.

12 oz bottle at the Bier Stein. Very attractive dark red pour with a sizable dirty white head. Pretty carbonated, but not unpleasantly so. Very tasty, almost IPA like in hoppiness and flavor, pine and citrus predominate. Dry finish. Extremely tasty especially for the style.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Citrus pine, and grapefruit. But citrus shines through for me. I really liked this beer, for the style a score. Nice malt backbone and finishes dry. Awesome beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber with a red hue, airy head, lively carbonation. Big hoppy citrus aroma, like an IPA. Flavor is caramel malt, with some light notes of grapefruit. Medium mouthfeel with a dry finish...very easy to drink. Excellent.
