Commercial Description:
Resinous hop character and bitterness balance the rich caramel malt base. We took it a step further and Amarillo dry hopped the brew to 45 IBUs, creating refreshing and savory hop flavors and aromas. Is it Red IPA? That’s your call.

I feel let down. It looks good, it smells good and the first part of the taste is good but then finished with a metallic lingering aftertaste that I can’t forgive.

Woah, this is right up my alley. Just found another daily drinker. Love that it’s not that strong either. 6% is just right. An Amber with a tilt towards the hoppy side of the fence. Great beer.

Deep amber with a foamy, thick 1.5" tan head. Balanced hop aroma with a strong floral presence. Aroma is also of strong caramel malt with a hoppy, spicy accent. Sediment in suspension is clearly visible in the glass. Full, delicious, balanced hop flavor that is heavy and very bitter. The caramel malt is an undertone. Smooth, light and creamy texture. So much character, you almost can’t handle it, but then you handle it. Consistency is medium-thick, and satisfying. Clean, bitter finish. These hopped up American red ales are the new IPAs. God blessed Texas and Amarillo hops. This could unseat your other favorite.

I love hoppy red ales and this is far more IPA than amber. The dry hopping of amarillos offer up a great bitterness and hop bite. It has a wonderful malt smell and palate, low end of the carbonation scale. Would be a higher score, but for some reason, that 6% alcohol has a taste of 8-9%, its surprisingly harsh. Wonderful ale with plenty of lupilin.

Draft at Green Leafe tavern. Pours deep coppery ruby with off-khaki head. Nose is intense hops, rye malt, mild vinous fruit and peppery notes. Tastes full bodied, rich, with a well balanced rye malty and hoppy presence. I had this with gazpacho, and it paired amazingly well with that.

12 oz bottle from Country Club Liquors; Nose of light piney and floral hops along with caramel maltiness; Hzy copper with a medium beige head; flavor is hop bitterness, light pineiness, caramel, & rye bread; finish is hoppy bitterness. Red IPA would be a good description!

12oz bottle. Aroma: Aroma: Nice fruity hoppiness with notes of orange and apricot, floral and light spice. A good amount of maltiness with a large dose of caramel. Some light breadcrust. Appearance: Deep reddish amber bordering on copper in color. Nice clarity. Bone colored head was full and foamy with great retention and lacing. Flavor: Hop forward with notes of apricot, resin, orange, and floral. A bit of caramel and breadcrust. Bitterness kicks in soon and lingers for a bit after the finish. Finishes dry. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. A bit of astringency on the tongue. Overall: Nice beer. Smooth and very drinkable with a nice hop kick.

This beer pours a deep reddish amber with a medium off white head. First thing you notice is that this beer appears to be unfiltered which seems kinda unusual for a red ale... The aroma is light grass/grapefruit which is great for a hop head such as myself. The flavor is the same and is quite dry as it should be. This is a very good offering from green flash. I really liked this one! Cheers
