| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 12, 2009 Pours brownish red with a moderate long lasting off-white head. Aroma has quite a bit of orange, pine, and plantstore qualities and not too much malt. Love the hops on the nose. Taste is bit more normal with a little toast and caramel, astringency and plenty of bitter citrus tang. Finishes bitter with toast and citrus competing for attention. Medium bodied, creamy texture, feels good to drink. I’d definitely say this is a red IPA and despite being well put together, I can’t help but be a little bored with this. rugbydude05 (287), Kew Gardens, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Pint on tap at Croxleys. Very well balanced aroma as advertised, heavily hopped with some sweet roasty maltiness. Pours a clear dark golden color. Flavor is rather bitter but very agreeable. Palate is very full and fills the mouth with flavor. Very complex and well balanced beer. TampaBrew (805), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2009 12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a semi transparent, brown with darkened maroon color. Low carbonation, white ring around the class for a head with minimal lacing. Aroma of pine, caramel malt, and enough attitude to kick whatever you had last right THROUGH the window by the back of it’s neck and belt. Hits the mouth with a high medium body, malt has some weight which is nice, hops see that that door is open a crack and crash the fucker down, middle holds up nicely, finish has a fine acidity laced with a sweetened backbone from the malt. My only problem- I knew I should have grabbed a 6’er instead of just a single, because now I want to drink this the rest of the day!!! IvoR (30), New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark amber to red with small head and lots of floating particles. When I smelled it I thought it was going to be another IPA for the day and double-checked the label. The flavor however was very soft and different than that of an IPA. A combination of fruity hops malt. The hoppy character lasts throught a very long finish. It’s like drinking two styles of beer at once. Very drinkable. troopie (866), USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Bottle. Poured wine red with medium white head. Some lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus and resin. Very hoppy flavour, almost like an IPA. Lingering hop finish and welcome in hot weather. Craybees (17), New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Pretty fine example of the style. "Is it red IPA?" Maybe not. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. A nice, bitter finish completes a well-balanced malt/hop taste (emphasis on the malt). Definitely prefer this to Red Nectar.
