12 oz bottle from Johnís - Has quite a nice aroma, but the taste is a bit disappointing. Itís kind of like the first time you try vanilla extract. It smells way better than it tastes.

~Pours a murky brownish red color with big lasting fluffy off white head.
~Good floral hop scent with lots of sweet maltiness. Smells like an IPA.
~Bitter hop taste, spicy floral hops. Mellow malts in the taste. I like, seems to be an IPA to me.
~Medium feel, dusty, dry hop finish.
~ A delicious treat. Pretty IPAish to me. Interesting brew.

Dark cloudy red/amber color. Nice tan head. Hoppy aroma balanced with roasted malt. Taste is smooth and hoppy as well, with a creamy texture. Didnít impress me at first, but grew on me throughout the pour.

Yum. My favorite (but expensive) red ale. I love the carmel, the bitterness of the hops, the carmel and toasted nutty flavor. Yum.

The pour reveals a clear amber color with a medium tan head. Very good aroma of piney, citrusy and resinous hops. Solid flavor of piney, citrusy and resinous hops with some malt and a bitter finish. The body is light with a creamy texture and soft to medium carbonation. Very nice, one of the best amber ales Iíve had so far.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Excellent red. Appearance is perfect for the style - deep, cloudy amber with solid head and lacing. Aroma is strong, but mostly malt and caramel. Flavor is awesome. Itís hoppy, malty, sweet caramel to start and a bitter hop finish. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown With a large white head and some floaties. Aroma is fresh citrusy hops and a little sweet. Flavor is the same with a mellow bitterness and a load of caramel. Medium bodied with lots of carbonation. Not very complex, but very tasty.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottle) Purchased at Spinnakers Spirit Merchant in James Bay, Victoria, BC. Pours a lasting almond-coloured head atop a deep amber body. Nose is wonderful - I love Amarillo hops. The sweetness and spruce background on this beer has made this my all-round favourite available non-BC beer this year. Remarkable stuff. 9/4/8/4/16
