Very dark red with unfiltered suspended particles and a dense, medium manilla head. Toasty, piney hop aroma of medium strength with a tinge of tropical fruits. Flavor is very piney and caramel-like with plenty of grapefruit, wood, tea and resinous hop bitterness. Pleasant lingering bitter finish (tastes a little more bitter than 45 IBUs). Very full, round and chewy with moderate cabonation. Tasty, very nice beer. dmac (1510), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2008 12 oz bottle from EZ Liquors. Pours a hazy red amber with an average to large creamy beige head. Pine tree aroma with a slight touch of caramel in the background. Flavor falls very flat compared to the aroma but there is lots of fresh hop notes along with some grain. Medium bodied with a strong bitter finish. This beer is nice but why the hell is over $11 a six pack especially considering that it’s only 6% alcohol. SuIIy (1504), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a dark, murky, swampy brown color with lots of floating sediment and a small miniscule off white head. Nose is piney, sappy hops with a sweet caramel maltness. Palate is stingy, medium and a bit sticky. Flavor is malty caramel up front with a hopy, bitter finish. Sticky, piney, caramely, sappy. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2008 12oz bottle. Fresh. Pours a deep amber with plenty of bubbles and a spotty head of off-white creamy lace. Aroma is a spicy hops and a full caramel backbone. I have to admit I really enjoy the juicy nature of Green Flash’s IPAs. This is more full flavored and rounded but I’m not sure I like it as much. TheEpeeist (1500), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 3, 2008 12 oz bottle. Clear, but dark, orange brown with a whipped bone head that settles to a float. Coating lace. Nose is spicy orange, dough and lime zest. Medium mouthfeel with a creamy hoppiness and a light tingle. Taste is smooth pith, pepper and lemon custard. Almost no sweetness but not overly bitter. An interesting take on an amber. RCL (1498), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA

Quite prominent hops in the flavor overpowers the malt just a bit. Quite hoppy aftertaste, it is quite resinous, but that’s not really my thing. tomthompson89 (1494), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Candied grapefruit aroma of sweetness and citric hops mixing together. The flavor is pretty much their IPA with less bitterness and more sweetness. If you are in the mood for a maltier and less hoppy ale, this will do. At the same time, it really isn’t that interesting in comparison. A nice, hoppy amber, but the malts aren’t giving enough to trump that hop flavor, which is still less than I would want for an IPA. I guess I just don’t get it. (746314, 3.4)............. Rerate: Bottled again. Head lasts for days. Super floral and grapefruit aroma is nice, but there is some malty sweetness poking through too. tasted it warmer this time around, and the bitterness gave way to a nicer malt flavor. Hops are still super green and grapefruity. This really is quite bitter. Palate seems smoother and just right in the middle thickness wise. As long as you know that you are getting into a darker IPA, I think Green Flash has got you covered here.
