Aroma is floral hops. Taste is sweet rich malts with a very strong earthy leather hop bitterness. Very powerful amber, would see this leaning toward the IPA camp. Nice beer will probably drink more when available. austone (1039), Turku; Pori, Finland

Very balanced and well hopped nose, nuttiness, caramel malts and mild pine. Very resinous hoppy flavor with little yeastiness, caramel, nuttiness similar to the aroma, but with a lot stronger piney hops. Almost full bodied, really lush chewy palate. I don’t care about the style, this just drank pretty damn good. TeamTrappist (419), jericho, New York, USA

Nice floral hop nose and flavor with a touch of sweetness. But it is nicely balanced with a good bitter finish. This would be a good session beer, and a good every day beer. Aroma is hops, but it is slightly metallic and a little off. That is nowhere in the taste though. Lots of hops, bitter, some citrus, and some caramel malt. Lean is towards hops than malt. I like the description of "red IPA" for this beer. beer23 (1), , Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2008 Bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester NY. Nice hop character for an Amber Ale. Caramel malty after taste though. A very smooth red/amber ale with a nice hop presence. bwilley (20), Fullerton, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2009 Appearance? Wow. Rose-orange. Big puffy head. Impossibly murky and thick. Huge specks of yeast, like a fiber supplement. Insane.
Bitter amber malts in the nose, but with a strong flowery hop. Hint of pine oil. Malts are sharp and bready.
The taste is nicely bitter, bready malt. Some soft yeast. Hops very flowery and estery. Double bitter flavors, but a sweet finish. As it warms, some sweet caramel malts emerge.
Feels a little gritty and grainy, but works with the red part of the beer. It’s a nice amber/IPA hybrid. Goes down very easy but not wimpy.
