3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Red body with a nice, frothy off-white head. Some decent lacing results! Complex aroma consisting of sweet malt, molasses, and some good grapefruit and floral hops. Medium bodied and creamy. As with the aroma, the flavor is complex. Sweet caramel and malt up front with a very nice bitter finish. Here is where the grapefruit hoppiness announes its prescence. I like this beer a lot.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cloudy deep red with some chunkiness (not the freshest sample), and a nice creamy off whit foam cap. Aroma is an intense citrus and pine resin. Taste starts with a sweet, deep caramel malt and gives way to a pronounced hop bitterness with some with a grassy, herbal character. Slight bit of oxidized, papery flavor. Mouthfeel is medium with moderate carbonation. Finish is a strong but well balanced bitterness that lingers on the tongue.

Bottle. Pours rich amber with a decent beige head that leaves some lacing. Nose of hay and maybe some alcohol. Taste is medium bitter that grows through a long increasingly sour finish. light body, thin texture, average carbonation and a long sour bitter finish. Not my taste in beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Amber, foggy pour with a modest, fading head. Malts are the main thing you get on the nose with an earthy hop tone dancing in the background. Some sweetness. Medium, smooth body. Full malt character in the taste more so than anything except for a bitter bite on the finish.

Bottle. Hazy amber pour with small offwhite head. Nice floral aromas. Taste has notes of malt but dominated by the bitterness from the hops. Refreshing beverage.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Ugly brown with flecks of yeast and a solid sheet of fine creamy foam. Smells like malt, some spice and more malt. Not really picking up any hops on the nose here. Taste is bitter and malty with some bits of tea and bitter - well bitter. medium bodied with medium carb and a dry finish. Not impressed. Wish I knew how old this was.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Resin, citrus and mango in the aroma, balanced by caramel malt. The same goes for the flavour, with the addition of red fruit in the main part and subtle anise in the finish. Strong yet not overbearing bitterness. A very good, balanced beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours very hazy dark red amber with a foamy yellowed beige head. Aroma is floral, crisp citrus, peach and caramel sweet. Taste is a really surprising, subtly deep and drinkable. Caramel malts upfront and piney citrus hops follow. Not overly bitter but dry and crisp. Bitterness is enhanced with warming. Almost creamy mouthfeel. Fantastic balance to this beer. This is an unexpected winner. Great. Almost like drinking a Manhattan!

Candied apples and melba toast under a toast head which fades as a solid layer, leaving bready lace in its wake. Lace abounds.
Apple orchards and pine trees, apple skins and pine needles, apple musk and rustic forests. Melba toast crunch in the back and underneath – lightly caramelized. Lemon skin and oils on top.
Apple pulp and peach pulp. Pine and lemon peel in the back. Pine trees and bark. Peach pits and apple seeds for nutty rustic tannic bitterness. Apple orchards and musk in the breath.
A solid hoppy red ale from another preeminent California brewery that seems to not brew any bad beer. Whatever it is, if the beer is Green Flash then you should buy it, try it, share it, and enjoy it.
