COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This American-style Black IPA is nearly jet black and perceived to have high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma with medium-high alcohol content, balanced with a medium body. The appearance may trick you into thinking you are about to enjoy a traditional stout beer when in fact your senses are about to be overwhelmed with our Black IPA. Juicy, fruity, floral, and pine from Pacific Northwest hops gives the beer a classic West Coast IPA hop character. The Black IPA is further characterized by a balanced and moderate degree of caramel malt and subdued dark roasted malt flavor and aroma. 7.2% ABV, 85 Hops used: Warrior, Citra, Cascade

Pours black with a tan head. Overall citrus and roasted malt flavor combine for a tantalizing aroma. Taste is balanced with a moderate sweetness and overall bitter crisp finish. Great beer

Bottled. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, citrus, caramel, floral hops and resin. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and solid bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice Black IPA,

Bottle @ home with friend from Les bires de Celestin, Lille - FR. Color: deep dark black beer with small carbonation and medium brown head. Smell: grassy domination and floral notes. Hoppy well balance with good malt presence. Very interesting beer! Taste: nice taste of grassy and hops with licorice balance and malt. Very nice and good equilibrium. Aftertaste: small alcohol taste with finish as licorice and hops.

Smak: dosyć słodki, słodowy z posmakami tostowymi, czekolady, kawy, karmelu i lekką palonością. Dość szybka chmielowa kontra z wyraźną goryczką i przesuniętym w tę stronę balansem. Raczej czysty smak bez nut niepożądanych. Goryczka i odczucie w ustach: wyraźna owocowo- żywiczna goryczka, lekko drażniąca i dosyć długa. Średnia pełnia, umiarkowane wysycenie i lekki alkohol ogrzewający przełyk. Trochę lepka i gęsta konsystencja.

600 ml bottle (?). Pours a clear reddish brown-black with a resilient beige head. Aroma is roast, fruity, hoppy. Flavor is lots of roast, chocolate, red and dark berries, Finish is bitter coffee, citrus, fruity. Lingering bitterness. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, average to strong carbonation. Excellent!!

My 2,000th Rate. Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Deep dark brown pour with a small tan head. Citrus hop and dark malts protruded from the beak. Flavour-wise there were notes of pine, chocolate, malts, orange and booze. Decent balance struck. Full bodied and smooth mouthfeel. Plenty to like here and a very solid Black IPA. Im rarely disappointed in the output from this brewery and this is no exception. Cheers!

This is a pretty solid black IPA, though its very roasty. Enough hops with a fairly thick body. Good stuff.

Bottle - Piney hops and some light roast. Jet black with a nice rich beige head. Grapefruit, pine and burnt toast. With the big flavors this is surprisingly well balanced and subdued. Very nicely done.

Bottle at home. Pours very dark brown with one finger of tan head. Aroma is slightly roasty pine and slight citrus hoppiness. Flavor follows with slight caramel. Medium bodied. Finishes dry and bitter. Very smooth beer. I'm not a fan of the style but this is a good one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours unclear dark brown, red hue, with a nice light beige head, reviving and leaving very nice lacing. mint and tangerine skin, earl grey tea leaves, chocolate-coated fresh roasted coffee beans, luscious chocolate, some sweetness - lactose, very ncie roasted profile, touch of tropical notes. light carbonation, medium body - oily, almost balanced resinous-citrusy finish. just a tad heavy but very tasty.
