COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hoppy pale ale starts out as 30th Street Pale Ale and then undergoes Spanish cedar aging. Wood aging imparts an intense cedar aroma which dominates the dry hop. The flavor contributions from the Spanish cedar include peppercorn spiciness and a tannic dry mouth feel that makes the hop flavor and bitterness linger in the finish. The wood adds a fun and unique twist on a classic American Strong Pale Ale, “The wood is good!” Hops used: Warrior, El Dorado, Cascade

Draft at the Porter Beer Bar in Atlanta. Pint glass. Pours a deep orange-amber with a pillow head. Good lacing. Strong aroma of cedar, citrus, pine and biscuit. The taste was not quite as strong cedar as the aroma. Pine and citrus hops came through. Nice spicy and floral finish. Slightly bitter. Good, but not as good as Humidor from Cigar City.

Bomber, pulled fresh out of a snowdrift outside the front door of my apartment (7 degrees here in the Hog Butcher to the World). Pours a honey gold, clear and nicely carbonated, very nice, creamy, off-white head with exceptional retention and lacing. Nose is cracker malts, candied orang peels and and some grapefruit mingling about with hints of that Spanish cedar. Mouth is medium bodied, very dry for the style with a crispness to accent the hippy bitterness and some wood. Green Flash makes some very nice PAs, this is among them.

Comes out of tap slightly hazy golden with a thick buff head. Aroma has strong hoppy and hay notes riding a fruity and malty undertone. Flavor is very hoppy, very like an IPA, with notes of hay, malt and pear, just a little fresh-cut evergreen bitterness. Texture is firm, smooth yet lively. If you cedar tap handle, ask for a crater.

Tap...really nice and well balanced APA with the addition of the woodiness from cedar. This adds a tannic dry finish to the brew and a long lasting clean finish.

Single bottle from Julio’s. Pours out a clear light golden amber color. Complex flavor of caramel malts and lots of bitterness. Cedar is not evident, but there is a dry spice backbone to this one. Very bitter finish. Not your usual pale ale.

Bottle. Amber body with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, resin, toasted grain, bread. Hint of citrus and cedar. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Standard pale ale (though more resin taste which brought it down a few notches for me), but cleaner than many making their way onto the craft beer scene today.

From bottle at Big Beers in Vail, CO 2015. Pour is hazy orange with a big white head and great lacing. Sweet fruity hops - melon, honeydew, cantaloupe - light orange, and heavy woody aroma. Taste is orange marmalade, grapefruit peels, candied oranges, somewhat grassy, and a ton of cedar with a big bitter finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Relly tasty stuff.
