Our Citra Sessionô IPA is brewed with high-quality Marris Otter and Vienna malt but the flavor is dominated by the Citra hops introduced throughout the boil and again in the dry hop for maximum aroma intensity. Notes of lemon, orange and grapefruit make this hop-laden brew a perfectly potable summer session IPA.

Pours pale gold with white head, nice lacing. Aroma is fruity, citrus, mangos, tropical fruits. Flavors are much of the same, very fruity, with a pretty solid bitterness that lingers nicely and makes it a very good thirst quencher. A little more body than I was expecting at this ABV. Quite good.

Appearance: hazy pale gold with one finger of ivory head, good retention and patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: citrus rind, tropical fruit, resin, bready malt, lightly dank and/or catty. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium-light body, moderate carbonation, off-dry finish. (4/5) Bearing in mind that this is intended to be a low ABV sessionable ale, itís pretty good. That said, itís a bit thin in the mouth and the flavours just donít seem to pop, though it doesnít seem to have been deeply harmed by being a bit past its best-by. And, as Iíve usually found to be the case with single-hop ales, the flavours seem to lack dimension. On the up side, the Citra doesnít come through as offensively catty the way it sometimes can, though there is a not-unpleasant suggestion of that in there, particularly as it warms. (14/20)

Draught at Buffalo WIngs & Smile. Fresh passion fruit character with a sherbet feel, light bready base, citra is really shining here, finish is nicely dry and fruity. Smooth and addicting stuff, one more please.

Poured into a SA Perfect Pint showing dark golden amber, moderate to well filtered, with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows a lot of steel tank notes among tropical fruits of pineapple, light mango, and a little guava. The palate is moderately carbonated and medium bodied. Fruit forward of mostly pear and guava with mango in the background. Light sharp IPA bitterness rounds off the finish. The linger shows the same fruit flavors on the palate. A very well made session IPA.

Draught at St. Augustineís, Vancouver; 414ml
Hazy golden color, small head. The hops are a bit fruity and resiny, the malt have some cereal quality, and the body is not too thin; itís rather dry, it has very strong bitterness, but the hops are not very bright and fresh. The hop doesnít come through as Citra.
Good American Pale Ale, but nothing special.
Aroma: 6.5. Palate: 3.5

Pretty solid session ipa. Not as much flavor as I was thinking it was going to have but the flavor that is there is very good. Big citrus, pine and dankness. Pretty nice pop of bitterness. I can definitely tell there are citra hops, but I wish there was more. I think thatís my biggest problem with this beer. Since itís highlighting one specific hop, I wish they would just make the beer explode with it. Green Flash used to be so awesome and lately their stuff isnít really as good as it was.
