Our Citra Session™ IPA is brewed with high-quality Marris Otter and Vienna malt but the flavor is dominated by the Citra hops introduced throughout the boil and again in the dry hop for maximum aroma intensity. Notes of lemon, orange and grapefruit make this hop-laden brew a perfectly potable summer session IPA.

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent golden orange with sticky white lacing. Smells solid too; a nice Citra hop presence. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. A good example of the style.

Pale golden-straw pour with a thick white head. Really bright Citra aroma and a bit of cat pee and kiwi. Lean-bodied but juicy and lemony. Gooseberry and light lemon. Delicious.

Great nose. Fully hoppy opening. Finished a little thin, but a bit to be expected from a session. Top three session ipa for me ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Type: 16-oz. draft Glass: Pint glass From: KnB Wine Cellars in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif. Price: $3.00 (Wednesday night deal) Purchased: July 31, 2013 Consumed: July 31, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a golden pale clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of white head when I got it. Good amount of even layered lacing on the sides. Above average retention. Smelled crisp bitter hops, initially reminding me of a Lagunitas Day Time IPA. Got floral hops, citrus hops, grapefruit, tangerine and orange rind. Tasted similar to the nose with grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, orange, orange rind and floral hops coming strong. Bitter, but smooth somehow smooth. Grassy, wheat and more like a pale ale than the smell. Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Bitter finish, but crisp and refreshing. Really enjoyed this beer. May have overrated it a bit, but that’s OK.

I love the whole session ale concept, and this is no exception. Strong, fruity, spicy aroma. Flavor starts a tiny bit sweet, and finishes with a citrus bitter punch. And the best part--all that flavor in a relatively low alcohol beer, so you can have a few and not feel like you need to take a nap. Very nice example of a style I hope takes off.

Pours a clear golden yellow on tap with fluffy white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is heavy on the hops, citrus, tropical notes, and grassy awesomeness. Taste is slightly less awesome, but still a nice hop punch and a decent malt back. Damn good beer, I probably will drink a lot of these.
