Our Citra Session™ IPA is brewed with high-quality Marris Otter and Vienna malt but the flavor is dominated by the Citra hops introduced throughout the boil and again in the dry hop for maximum aroma intensity. Notes of lemon, orange and grapefruit make this hop-laden brew a perfectly potable summer session IPA.

Draft at Moerlein Lager House. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, sweet and caramel and pale malts, hay, grass, and tea. Flavor is the same, with more floral bitterness. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a bitter, tea-like mouthfeel. Good session IPA.

Bottle shared in CT. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy white head. Effervescent. Lovely dry, pithy citrus on the nose.light sweet flavor with moderate juicy citrus, pith, straw, balancing pale malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Great balance on the finish with lasting pith, tangerine, grapefruit. Exceptional.

Bottle. Slightly hazy, golden pour with a slick of white foam. Light grapefruit, pine, and restrained bitterness in the aroma. Taste is medium bitterness, pine, some grapefruit notes and a lightly sweet, bready malt backbone. Clean mouthfeel. Balanced and tasty - good beer!

madvike (2759) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 7, 2014
Bottle - Pours golden with a foamy light tan head. Nose is a bit watery, but there’s the classic garlic/onion hops, some grapefruit, and a mellow bready malt base. Not super pungent. Taste is much of the same, with the hops coming through the malt, but not overpoweringly so. It’s too bad, because if this was dried out a bit I think it would let the hops shine more and be much better. As it stands it runs watery and overly malty at the same time, with some weird astringency on the finish. It’s still decent, but I feel like it could have been so much more.

Bottle shared with the old man. Aroma is zesty citrus, floral, and grass. Pours blond with nice big fizzy head. Taste is citrus forward followed by light bitter grass and a floral malt. Very light and gulpable but nothing really sets this apart. Not worth how hard it was to get.

There is a date on the bottle that says 01/23/15 (best before date? seems a bit far off). Appearance: Fantastic clarity in a light gold body with a fluffy white head that leaves lacing. It looks absolutely beautiful. Aroma: Oh wow, the hop aroma just leaps from the glass. It smells wonderfully fresh. There is a strong pungent scent, very dank, and a very rich citrus scent. It is slightly catty but not unpleasant. Really it is a perfect aroma. Taste: Right off the bat there is this nice toasted bread crust flavor and a light earthy bitterness. A bit woody with a touch of cedar at the end of the drink. Very mellow for an IPA but it tastes really good. Palate: It has a pretty average palate. Nothing really stands out in this department. The bitterness is a bit mellow which doesn’t cause the palate to suffer but it doesn’t do much to elevate it either. Overall: Yes, I definitely enjoy this beer. It is very well made in the malt selection giving it this nice bread-like undertone and a very fresh hop flavor and aroma sitting on top. I really would highly recommend trying this beer out. Living on the opposite coast that this beer was crafted in, it still tastes very fresh. I would buy it again.

22oz. bottle, golden pour with some head and lacing. Weak nose of oily lemons. Watered down flavors of lemons and bitter grapefruit. Astringent bitter finish. Not much to write about. Its good for what it is, a Session IPA.
