COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bigger, bolder, and hoppier is what you get in Green Flash’s Imperial Red Rye IPA...how unusual! This is quite possibly the most amount of flavor that can be packed into a glass of red ale. Columbus hops set the stage for the newly available Mosaic hops (released in 2013) to shine through the rich crystal malt base and a touch of rye malt adds a spicy dryness to accentuate the hop character further

On tap at World of Beer UCF. Pours a red brown with a beige head and sweet tropical fruit aroma. Taste is bittersweet, lots of grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruits, and hops with a dry, bitter finish. Nice brew

On tap at World of Beer, UCF, pours a deep red with a nice head. Nose is all tropical citrus, deep and pleasant. Taste is citrusy, with deep resin and pine...and a good amount of bitterness. The finish is bitter sweet, with a long bitter ending.

Drank it from a mason jar. Very little head upon receiving it, so I can't comment on that. Aesthetically, it's a dreamy dark red with less than average carbonation, but it's certainly not flat. Just by the color, you can tell it's a malty beer, and the smell gives off that vibe. The nose is complimented by spicy notes alongside the grapefruit and pine. A really pleasant aroma. Flavor is a mix between an Imperial IPA and an American Strong Ale. I catch the rye with every sip, but the malt gives balances the hops nicely. It's bitter, spicy, fruity, and dry on the finish. Thankfully the ABV is right where it needs to be to compliment all the flavors and make the experience memorable. Outstanding beer... Another excellent offering from Green Flash and my new favorite Rye Pale Ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap. Pours a hazed amber-orange with thinner khaki head that leaves a thick wall of intricate lace behind. Nose involves lots of spicy and herbal hops, some caramel and toffee, orange citrus, some rustic rye and dusty yeast. Somewhat sweet, nicely bitter. Full bodied, oily, creamy, softer action, with a spicy rye finish. Really nice brew, big but not overly so, with lots of fun hop and rye elements and a good malt backbone.

On tap @ Ladyface. Pours a nice amber color with a tall off-white head. Big pine and citrus hop aroma. Grapefruit zest, tropical fruit, rye, and a bit of malt sweetness. Really nice citrus and pine hop flavors. Fairly bitter, some rye, tropical fruit, and a surprisingly restrained malt sweetness.

On tap at Cole’s. Beautiful, dark amber with a medium tan head. Definitely seems dry hopped, with an even combination of pine and citrus. No malt notes in the nose. The rye adds a little spice to an otherwise very hoppy tasting beer. Mostly train. Quite full. Not a session beer - there is even a note of booze in the finish.

Several on tap. Deep copper with a lasting head. Nose is spicy caramel, orange-grapefruit and resiny wood. Tastes of orange toffee, light cocoa, evergreen resin. Long finish is dry spicy grass, resin and wood. Medium body has average carbonation and is well balanced.
