Draft at Monks. Deep burnt orange pour with a large tan head. Rich and boozy. Full syrupy palate. Brandied cherries. Pomegranate. Clear candy toys. Big earthy, resin hop flavors. Liquorice root. Molasses. Truffles. Black pepper. Turpentine. Darkly sweet but also a lot of lingering bitter. Bit harsh, but nice to find such strong dark red fruit notes in something so hoppy.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a rich bronze colour with nice beige head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma is an immediate blast of fresh crisp celery, dank pine, grass, & hints of onion. Flavours follow the nose with some creamy sweet malt mingling around the delicious bitter citrus zest, finishing with lots of white pepper and hints of stale bread. Mouthfeel is not as full as expected. The remarkably distinctive hop profile makes this a very enjoyable brew.
