COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bigger, bolder, and hoppier is what you get in Green Flash’s Imperial Red Rye IPA...how unusual! This is quite possibly the most amount of flavor that can be packed into a glass of red ale. Columbus hops set the stage for the newly available Mosaic hops (released in 2013) to shine through the rich crystal malt base and a touch of rye malt adds a spicy dryness to accentuate the hop character further

Sample at The Daily Growler. Deep reddish-orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of citrus, piney hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, tropical fruit and sweet malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a spicy hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma of rye malts, pungent piney hops, and dry caramely biscuity malt. Flavour is similar, with loads of rye, piney hops, hemp and biscuity malt. Very dominated by the rye malts, though the hops are extremely potent as well. Excellent stuff.

Pint on tap at Fries. Moderately spicy hop, some tropical fruity hop aroma. Some chocolate. Mostly clear dark red color. Minimal off-white head. Couple loose dots of lace. A bit maltier than I expected. A lot of sweet, dark fruit flavors to it. Moderate / stronger sweet taste, light spicy flavor, little bitter. Bigger body. Lighter carbonation. Much sweeter, maltier than expected, lots of caramel malt.
