Tap @ O’Brien’s. Pours orange-gold with a short white head. Strong in the pine and citrus aromas, with a lot of grapefruit. Sweet up front with caramel that gives the grapefruit, oranges, mango flavors a sugary coating. Good, resiny finish. Loved it.

Bottle from deftim13. Thanks man! Gold colored brew pours with a nice foamy head and great sticky lacing. Very fruity aroma with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, lemon, orange, and pine. Pretty nice. The flavor is also very fruity. Extremely hoppy, but not over the top. Great balancing pale and caramel malts create softer sweet fruit that accompanies the grapefruit, orange, tropical fruits, and pine. Finishes with some nice lingering dryness and resins. Good stuff.

On draft at SD BrewCo during CDC week - thanks Dean! Arrives slightly hazed, amber color with a small white, foamy head. Juicy citrus fruit in the aroma, pine, alfalfa notes, light toasty malts. Delicious crisp and fresh hop flavor, grapefruit and evergreen, more of the toasty malts - a hop bomb but still nicely balanced. Medium body and smooth carbonation.

On tap @ Downtown Johnny Brown’s in San Diego, CA--Bright amber-copper body. Silky, fluffy, rocky white head. Fruity, tropical nose. Creamy, soft mouthfeel. Subtle fragrant hop complexities. Obviously quite hopped and malty, but well constructed. This beer is the shit!

On tap at the CBC beer pavilion 2008. Pours a clear golden hue with a big dose of earthy hops and pine in the nose. The flavor was hops, hops and more hops, lots of resiny/piney tartness with a long lasting biting finish, wow this one’s a powerhouse!

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 12 oz bottle from CBC courtesy of the guys at Port/Lost abbey: Pour is a clear golden color with a small bright white head. Aroma is grassy, piney and metallic. Flavor starts light caramel followed by a sour grassy bitterness and a dry, sharp orange rind finish. Medium body is tangy with moderate carbonation.

12oz bottle, courtesy of Tonsk. Medium orange color with a small white head. Candied pineapple, exotic citrus, piney metallic hop aromatics. Big crush of resinous piney and citric hops. Tinges of bready sweet malt underneath a persistent fruity and floral hop character. Lasting bitter mouthcoat in the finish, with lingering pine. Mouthfeel is medium light, rather dry.

Draught Foxy-amber beer with a huge yellow head. USA C-hops, lemon and passion fruit. Bit metallic in the taste, but C-hops balanced by some caramelly malts; again quite fruity. Medium bodied, bit (hop?)oily, ends burning. Good IPA, ripened, which seems a problem in this brewery (see Saison,...).
