This wasn’t great for me. Excessively yeasty and almost soapy, with astringent citrus flavors hidden by medicinal toothpaste and mintiness. Finis dries out as it warms, disappointing.

Tallahassee, Fl - on tap - Proof Brewing - Tennessee St. Hazy, medium orange pour, light off white head, light lace. Aroma has some toe jam essence, some peaches, a touch of spruce. Flavor has a solid citrus bitter backbone, some nectarine fruitiness, some saffron spiciness. Thickish mouthfeel. Pretty solid.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Nikki’s Liquors, 4/2/15

Aroma: The nose is fairly heavy pine/resin, tropical hops as well, basically just a big, hoppy aroma
Appearance: An unclear lighter orange color with a frothy white head and fairly coating, spotty lace
Flavor: The taste has is pretty heavily bitter, not balanced at all, but with a really nice hop flavor
Palate: The body is medium, with a fairly smooth feel, soft carbonation, and a long, dry finish
Overall Impression: This beer really does nail the West Coast IPA stereotypes. Big, resiny, dry, and quite good. It isn’t a perfect beer, but it is right on style, and damn enjoyable.

Misty honey gold. Lacey bone-colored head. Coldwater aroma, with some sulphur . Tasty, with lots of rambunctious hops. A few off notes towards the end. Good residual bitterness in the aftertaste. OK, didn’t love. On tap, Baby Proof.

From a bomber. Aroma is bready malt, some grassiness. Murky light-amber color with a medium head. Citrus rinds bitterness is up front, with some pine resin and the malt is in the background just a little too much. Could have a bit stronger malty sweetness to it. Palate is a bit heavier than most IPAs, with a juicy "chewiness" to it, which is quite pleasant; that aspect saves it from being a mostly-good IPA and makes it a really good IPA.

Draft at butcher and the boar. Excellent hoppy aroma. Slightly hazy Amber with excellent white lace. Wonderfully balanced IPA. I like it better than the other hop odyssey I've had

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 5/4/2015. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, herbal, floral, grass, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, herbal, floral, grass, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and resinous sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

[2/16/15] Draught at Cameron’s Inn in Half Moon Bay. Clear deep golden. “Green” hops aroma, kinda dank and leafy. Hoppy flavor, “green”, with pretty strong bitterness and an alcoholic note. Medium-bodied.
