This is indeed all about the hops (no surprise there) and very good hops they are too. The usual stuff in abundance – pine, resin, grapefruit. Doesn’t lapse too much into sticky sweet territory as some DIPAs can. And the alcohol, whilst evident, is not too hot and boozy. Excellent stuff. Maverick34 (698), New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Copper coloured with a creamy off-white head. Nice pine and caramell aroma with perfumey notes. Flavour is lots of caramell, less hoppy than expected, rather mild and round. A ok I/DIPA, their WCIPA stands out more. monkeychugg55 (223), Joliet, Illinois, USA

The aroma is loud and powerful grapefruit, with some pine, and candy. A faint amount of malt is also detectable. The flavor starts out with sweet caramel malt, to grapefruit and citrus, to pine and hop bitterness. Long bitter finish. This is full bodied with soft but lively carbonation. Nice hop profile like nothing I’ve had before. Another great beer from Green Flash. ansermadide (508), Kyle, Texas, USA

This high-IBU, high alcohol IPA has a cloudy yellow color, a hoppy "green" aroma, and a silky, syrupy hop flavor followed by a numbing hop finish. This is a well-crafted, well-flavored and well-balanced IPA. tarheels86 (738), Washington DC, USA

Pours a clear light orange with a one-finger white head that has pretty good retention and leaves okay lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, butterscotch, booze. Taste is herbal hops, some syrupy sweetness, butterscotch candies, brazil nut, almonds. Overall, a very nutty, cloying DIPA, ie a bit stale. Would like to try this fresh in Cali. williamherbert (466), Syracuse, New York, USA

Hazy but clear amber yellow color. Big pillowy head. Looks nice. Icy lace. Looks medium bodied and light colored for an Imperial IPA.
Beautiful West Coast hops. Citrusy and not overwhelming. Sweet biscutiy malt balance. Really really nice. The mildness is unexpected.
Excellent citrusy hop taste which is tart and fresh. A bit spicy, more woody as it warms. It’s imperial but not off-balance or extreme at all.
Creamy and a little thick. Somewhat bubbly with a pleasant sting on the way down. It’s a terrifice, balanced Imperial IPA. It’s not too hoppy, not hop-fetishistic. satan165 (570), River Grove, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 29, 2009 aroma is perfect balance of lightly bready malt and shadowy grapefruit. appearance is sunny translucent yellow. flavor is bracing bitterness -- lemon/lime and more grapefruit. more bready malts in aroma come out as beer opens. this beer is perfectly balanced yet the hops remain obnoxious -- as id like them to.
