4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Mmmm. Do I smell liquid weed fromt his hippie-infused DIPA? There is definately a strong herbal aroma punching up through the righteous alphalfa layer of hops. Tasty, tasty and more tasty. What we have gentlemen (and beer-geeky women of course, who are always the hottest girls out there) is a voluminous amount of grassy, resinous, piney hops that oh-so-gracefully sheath a toffee-rich malt saber of beer awesomeness. Really, this a fantastic, uniquely constructed "San Diego" style IPA that loves what it is and struts itís stuff like a fabulously confident transvesdite. Good stuff dear Green Flash. Now if you would just start brewing the Reaper beers again...

Thanks to Naven. Amber orange color. Smell of hops, minor citrus, malt, hints of pine, hints of grass and caramel. Tastes the same but more malt flavor than the citrus. I hoped there would be more citrus flavor in this one. Still an ok IPA.

22 oz. bomber in Colorado on 3/23/07 poured a clear gold and offered up a large rocky white head with excellent durability and lace. Monster fresh hop aroma is backed up by light toffee. Medium body and resinous mouthfeel that nicely fits the style, and without obvious evidence of the high ABV. Caramel base flavors juxtaposed to the grapefruit bitterness that brings on and extended dry finish. Really nice Imperial IPA for hopheads.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Hamiltonís, San Diego. Pale golden beer with a thick creamy white head. Massive hop aroma, perhaps even greater than their regular IPA with more sweet tropical fruit character. Mango, pineapple, and juicy fruit character. There is also a touch of herbal hop aroma behind the fruity aromatics. Very lean body leaving just fruity sweet hops, grapefruit, pine, and chewy hop resins. Seems less bitter than the regular IPA because itís a little bit less resinous. As I approach the bottom of the pint, the hops begin to taste a bit soapy, but itís still a great pint.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by nolankowal: Hazy peach color with an off white head. Aroma, pine, grapefruit and other citrus notes, resinous hop notes. Flavor, pale and caramel malts up front, a sticky grapefruit and piny hop character. Great flavor from the hops, but I thought it lacked that big bitter punch on the back end. Good beer though.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber pours a hazed, but radiant, peach body topped by a one finger, creamy, almond head. Excellent retention and island chain lacing drapes the pint glass. Aroma has prominent pink garpefruit complimented by orange esters, lemonrind and pine. Creamy, well carbonated, medium body has no hint of the 9% abv. Citrus fruit hoppiness dominates the taste, with a restrained honey-like sweetness balancing well. Nugget hops are prominent. Outstanding balance and dangerous drinkability. One of the better west coast DIPAís Iíve had the fortune to sample.

[Bottle from Beermouth tasted with the hop-bros at Jessí cosy inn.]
Filtered look with amber colour and huge head. Aroma of pine and other fruits combined with grasshops. Flavor of malted fruits and alcohol ending up in a bitter finish.
