"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Amber colour, mostly clear with a tall and foamy white head. Aroma is dripping with grapefruit hops. The aroma leads me to beleive the flavour will be like drinking straight hops but I am deceived. The flavour is well balanced with malt flavours and has a great transition into nice, tasty, biter hops with some more astringent and full hops flavours.

22oz bottle-pours an off white head that laces and gold color. Aroma is lots of hops-lemon. Taste is light/medium hops-lemon-bitter, faint malt, pine. Bitter after taste. Big. OK carbonation.

Draft at O’Brien’s. First aromas were grass, but it was soon apparent that what I was really smelling was Pine. Lots and lots of pine. Pine continued through to the flavor. Nice finish too. Really really good.

Bomber - from Lionshead Liquors, Vail. I’m gonna stop drinking this style - its just too much! Pours a murky gold with some lacing. Huge pine, grapefruit aroma. Very malty and aggressively hoppy. Lasting grapefruit tang. Not the best double IPA but a good punchy effort.

Thanks to Canals in Marlton, NJ ever more enlightened selection of craft brews, I found this one on the shelf and opened it as my Hannukah present for the night... Pours a very hazy deep amber with a tall khaki head. Extremely aggressive pine resin aroma with some citrus notes wafting about. Definately a hophead brew. Some grapefruit up front with toffee and milk chocolate but those flavors are quickly overtaken by hops - big hops - if this beer was a basketball player, it could dunk from half court. Firm texture with a lasting bitter finish topped off by a gentle alcohol note. Overall, this is an impressively aggressive brew that stayed on the rails more often than not but it is not quite balanced enough to contain the bitterness around the twisties.

On draft at O’Briens. This one arrived a clear amber orange with a slight haze in the bar light. Aroma is hop dominated, grapefruit and pine with subtle malt sweetness. Flavor is also mostly hoppy as expected, bright citrus and pine, malts are toasty and mild, but enough to hold up the brash bitterness. Medium to full body and crispy carbonation. Quite enjoyable.

22 oz bottle split two ways. Light hazy orange in color. Aroma, is pine and malt, some citrus. Taste is bitter and piney with citrus and malt in the background...

22oz bottle poured a clear copper/orange color with a nice slightly off white head. The aroma was spot on for an IPA with loads of citrus, pine and grapefruit. The taste was about as close to perfect as it gets, wonderfull balance of hops and malts with the alcohol never overpowering. Overall the most well rounded Double IPA around.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of dickinsonbeer. Poured a medium and clear orange color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of pine with lighter citrus. Tastes of pine, citrus, and some caramel. Light lacing left on the glass. I liked the hoppiness in this.

Thanks to whaleman for breaking this 22 ounce bottle open... Appears a transparent, light orange with a small white head. Tiny speckles of lacing are left aound the glass. Smell is of skunky, sticky marijuana, spicey, earthy, citrus, bordering cat piss, and intense spiced grapefruit. Taste is sweet, spicey, citrus, earthy, bitterly hopped, woody with a grassy rawness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, bitter, mildly sweet, and semi-dry.
