sonicstylee (13), cayuga, New York, USA Sep 22, 2008 kicking hops that deliver throughout, a bit of a fruity flavor. great example of the West Coast IPA. thick for an IPA, almost looks like a wheat beer, I couldn’t see through the glass. biznizness (930), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Sep 20, 2008 Hop devastation to my mouth. Yet, delicious. I am a fan of the West Coast IPA, so I was expecting good things, and it delievered. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Sep 19, 2008 Bottle at home with mesandsim. Alround rating: Toffee malts, caramalt, citrus, pine, very good amount of bitterness. Very easy drinking stuff. Lagunitasfan (432), San Diego, California, USA Sep 10, 2008 Who opened the baggie of Skunk Bud while I’m drinking my beer? Great color, dense head that drops to tenacious lace. The combination of hops in this brew smells remarkably of California’s number one agricultural product. Tasty, sharp, fruity, light, sticky on the back of the throat, and made my head feel good by the bottom of the 22 oz bottle. Bartender, I’ll have another. RollinHard (750), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Sep 8, 2008 Pours coppery burnt orange with a medium sized long lasting white head. Pretty nice lacing. Aroma is bursting with pine and plant store aromas, with a slight trace of toast and earth, but very little. Flavor follows suit with a fresh pine flavor, orange rind, bitter citrus with a bit of brown sugar and white chocolate malt flavors. Finishes grassier and moderately bitter, lingers on the throat for a real long time. Creamy texture, medium to full bodied, and plenty satisfying, I’m not sure why people thought this was a problematic beer on a recent forum thread. However, it’s not all that unique of an offering. Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA Sep 6, 2008 Smells pleasantly fruity and citric to balance out the hop assault on my nostrils. Pours a bit paler than some 2IPAs, with a big, beautiful frothy head and one of the longest lasting, soapiest lacings I’ve ever seen for an India pale ale. This beer looks excellent. Flavor is a bit citric in order to combat the excessive hop bitterness, but still doesn’t feel as balanced as the better 2IPAs I’ve had such as DFH90 or Lagunitas Maximus. Definitely worth trying but the best part about this beer is the look about it. grandridge (222), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pours fairly clear with a gloden amber hue and a large white head that decays over time to a rocky terrain in my snifter. Aroma is nice, sweet, never really smelled this nice blend of Summit and Nugget before, resiny but not piney. Flavor is sweet and bitter but not overdone. Leaves a slightly bitter taste in your mouth but not overdone. Solid mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 4, 2008 Pours a lovely but slightly hazy golden-orange with a thin but lasting ring of foam and minimal lacing. Aroma is very, very sweet and pleasantly hoppy. Tastes decadent - a dessert of an IIPA. Hops crisp up the high-gravity malty sweetness just enough to balance but not enough to make it particularly bitter. Body is thick with a nice crisp finish, minimal to moderate carbonation. Very tasty sipper of an IIPA!
