4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"after having them side by side, i have to give a slight nod to the West Coast over this one...maybe the juicier and more floral hop profile...Nugget & Summit in here, has a bigger body and is ridiculously smooth for such a big hop bomb of a beer. Quite acidic in the feel & flavor. The aroma, as expected is wonderful piney bitter hops. Love it. Similar profile to Hopsickle, but not quite as good...close though. For theprice, I’ll stick with GF’s West Coast IPA but will have this again."

3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Off the bat this beer looks, like all green flash beers, great. Pours a lovely lovely gold with a solid lasting white head. Unfortunately the aroma doesn’t come threw, but then this bottle does have some age on it. The taste is good, not too bitter for a big IPA, it manages to retain some complexity threw all those hops and is very drinkable. Overall, I would like to try a fresher example, but this still stands strong.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hazy orange color with a good amount of head. Aroma of citrus and a little earthy and astringen. Very sweet orange peel flavor and crazy drinkable for such a high ABV.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy orange. Film of bubbly, sticky, white head. Sticky toffee. Overripe mandarin. Ripe banana. Some spice. Some pith. Taste is heavy sweet, before relief, by way of a dirty, earthy bitterness, kicks in. Some booze, and soft carbonation, make for a big, rich mouthfeel. Finishes juicy, spicy bitter. A big beer. A tad rough, but very tasty. Stupid expensive, though. Could have been a lot higher rate. Need to get to America...

Bottle at home from brewdog
super hazy mid amber with frothy offwhite head. Dank lemony hop freshness with sticky fudge resinous background. Full bodied, pithy dryness, heavy, boozy, lime sherbet. Fairly astringent bitterness, floral, fairly high carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Transfer from BA review on 8-18-13-
Poured from bomber (bottled 4/11/13) into a snifter
Appearance – Pours a very hazy orange-amber color with a small half finger white head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass and some patchy foam on the top of the brew.
Smell – The aroma is on the sweeter side with a good deal of tropical fruits of mango and tangerine. Mixed with these smells are a little bit of caramel and a bit of breadiness. There is a hoppy smell of a grapefruit and floral nature as well. While all these aromas are very nice there is a very little bit of an astringent aroma mixed within slightly taking away from the niceness of the aroma.
Taste - The taste begins sweeter of caramel and tropical fruits with a moderately light bready taste upfront. Mixed with these base flavors of the brew, there is a grapefruit and pine hop flavor that is present upfront. The grapefruit and pine gains strength as the taste advances and is joined by some grassy taste more toward the middle of the taste. Toward the end, the fruity flavor of the brew grow a bit stronger along with a rather strong and bitter pine flavor ramping up to its max accompanied and a little bit of alcohol coming to the tongue. A light earthy flavor joins the pine, grapefruit, and grassy hop tastes to, in the end, leave a nice mix of bitter hop mixed with a sweeter tropical fruit flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly creamier and thicker side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The lower carbonation and thicker body really accentuate the mix of hop and fruit well all while suiting the abv of the brew making it a slower sipper.
Overall – Other than the slightly off nose, this was a very nice imperial IPA. It’s a bit on the sweeter side, but all comes together at the end of the taste to leave a satisfyingly pleasant taste on the tongue.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
22 oz bottle from Whole Foods in Hillsboro, OR. Aroma is piney, resinous, and lightly grassy. Mouthfeel is crisp, with an impressive bite from the hop bitterness and carbonation. Has a strong malt backbone to perfectly balance out the massive hop profile. This beer is ridiculously easy drinking for such a high gravity ale. One of my all-time favorites!

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from a 22oz from Whole Foods. Color is a bit cloudy. Aroma is definitely hoppy, I get mostly woody, musty almost with floral hints. Taste is a classic IPA, difference here is this one masks the 9.4%. Finish is slightly sweet/bitter. Very well balanced!
