Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

22 oz bottle courtesy of Thaichile. Pour is cheddar cheese orange, hazy, with a pretty off white 2 inch head. Thick lacing, coats the glass from top to bottom. Beautiful in my tulip; I am such a sucker for beers that look like this. Aroma of thick sweet resin, grain and citrus. Bittersweet. Taste is sharply bitter, with resin pine and orange peel. Pretty harsh, but does hide the heat decently. Palate is medium - quite mouth coating, with a lingering bitterness. This is a bitter beer, to be certain. Something about this beer reminded me of fresh Old Crusty. Thanks for sending this one my way, Mark!

Pungent resinous citrus hops blend well with sweet underlying malts. Opaque golden-orange coloured body is topped by a decent white head that recedes to a lasting cover with nice lacing. Hop flavour is very resinous with underlying sweet malts. Bitterness is pronounced but never overwhelming. Hop flavour comes across a bit like burnt rubber especially in the aftertaste. Medium full body with medium carbonation. Mild alcohol warming. Tulip glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Bottle (Brewery Creek, Aug-08).

Bottle: Clear yellow colour, with a nice creamy head. Aroma of lots of hops, citrus, flowers and a malty nose in the end. Flavor is a malty, hopy mic, with werry nice dry bitternes in the end. Nice balanced impy here.Medium body, and a medium hopy fnish.

This beer pours a light amber with a nice head, already i can smell the hops! They smell of a dry, grassy ,earthy maybe even a tad bit herbaceous! Now this is not your bright citrus hop bomb. This is earthy, dry, and dirty and lacking a bit of a malt backbone, but if you’re a hophead this beer is a must! There is a light malt flavor, but the hop presence is dominant.

as per description both aroma and flavour heavy on the hops. Flavourwise seemed a bit dry for my taste. Alcohol slightly evident. Seems a bit unbalanced perhaps>? Is still a good beer but relative to the other imperial ipas i’ve had it falls short. Somewhat disappointed

Aroma is floral hops and citrus. Pours hazy amber orange with rocky off white head. Flavor begins with subtle citrus and florals and then becomes nicely hoppy. The hop flavor is clean and refreshing, finishes by leaving the throat dry and bitter. Medium bodies with some good lacing and nice fluffy head. A good Imperial IPA, but was expecting a little more hop kick. Very drinkable though.

Another highly overrated beer. The musty nose isn’t pleasant, and while it has all the necessary flavors, they don’t seem to blend together at all

Smells wonderfully sour, grapefruit hops with sticky malt notes. Pours a hazy orange-ish color. Very yellow for an IPA. Small white head. Taste is odd, kind of like rubbing alcohol. The hop flavors don’t do much to mask the alcohol. Not bad, but I’ve had way better
