Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

From abomber, pours a deep copper color. Very citrusy aroma. Taste is more of the same citrusy, grapefruity hop flavor. Alcohol is hidden well. Great IIPA.

Bottle. Hazy gold/orange, fluffy white head. Nose is big citrus - grapefruit, pine, mint, toffee & a hint of sugar. Flavor is citrus, surprisingly malty, pine needles, orange rind. Finish shows toffee, long lasting citrus, minty pine.

22 oz bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Orange color with a 2-finger head. Floral and pine hop aroma with a honey-like sweetness in the background. Up front citrus hop taste with an earthy feel. Dry, bitter finish.

22oz bottle. Aroma: Lots of citrusy and piney hops. Grapefruit, pineapple, resin. Really juicy. A hint of caramel and a nice malt sweetness underlies all the hops. Appearance: Dark golden in color and hazy. Off-white head was medium sized and looked like soap suds. Fair retention and lacing. Flavor: Hops kick in right from the beginning. Orange and pine, pineapple and resin. Bitterness comes on early and fairly strong. Don’t taste any of the malt until the aftertaste, where I pick up a bit of caramel and some malt sweetness. Finishes fairly dry with the bitterness carrying over for quite awhile. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Light alcohol warming in back of mouth. Overall: Really nice west coast IIPA. Full of flavor and really drinkable. I’m glad I have a couple more of these.

Bomber: A nice medium golden with toned down hops from the hop head red. Hops are infused more into the body and extend longer thru the mouthfeel. This sucker went down fast and smooth for a 9%er. The bomber left me feeling wobbly and content with life. If that is not high praise, I’m uncertain what is.
