This is basically attempting Stone Ruination but not nearly as full of flavor. Glouglouburp (2810), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 9, 2008 In short: Lots of hops but too little malt and too much alcohol. A simplistic palette destroyer.
How: Bottle 220z, fresh. From kmweaver, thanks a lot Ken!!
The look: Clear golden body with a medium off-white head
In long: Hoppy nose with an equal parts of pineapples, grapefruits and citrus fruits. Taste is disappointing. The frail body is not enough for all the alcohol. 9% ends up feeling like 11%. Total lack of malts. Alcohol burns the throat and totally kills the hops flavour. It the end it was alcohol, some candy sugar followed by a short and sharp flavourless bitterness and alcohol bite. Some papery notes. I struggled to finish my 22oz. This beer is as boring and brutal as a stuttering uneducated drunk sailor. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Fruity hop beer, apricot jam and oranges. Good caramel and toffee flavor, resiny and fruity hops, bitter oranges. Strong final, getting a bit astringent.
2008-04-04, bottle at Ølbaren, Copenhagen, 8-4-8-5-16=41 Hazy golden color; big head. Very nice and quite original aroma, hoppy, earthy, with manure. Toffee flavor, and similar hop impact (manure...) some sweetness too. Very good, but tonight, compared side to side to the Ballast Point Dorado, it can’t win. Nephilium (547), Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Huge overpowering hoppy aroma (mainly citrus notes). Pours a clear amber with a huge fluffy white head. A touch of sweetness in the beginning, but it’s overpowered by a strong astringent hop flavor. Not quite as over the top as some IIPA’s, but really drinkable. hoplover406 (204), Crofton, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours Hazy orange with a thick off-white head. Excellent lacing. Huge citrus hops aroma. Very well balanced by a huge addition of malt(s). Good example of the style. Nice and bitter, but nothing like the Ruination. Overall: very good. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2008 (n) Solid, well crafted entry into an already-crowded style. Pours a very clear strikingly bright orange (none of the common GF sediment!) with a big ’ole off white head. Smells of smooth tangerine sweetness and sticky citrus hops. Taste is "all about the hops". There is an even, clean maltiness throughout, but the emphasis is definitely on the big load of sharp citrus/piney hops. Big, even bittering, lemony citrus and tangy grapefruit notes all over the place. Some chalky bite on the back of the palate, and a tad oily on the palate, but nothing that isn’t to be expected from a big hop bomb like this. getalife2k5 (7), Astoria, New York, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Updated: Jun 5, 2008bottle. Amber colored and very bubbly. has a thick frothy head that maintains itself quite well. smells citrusy, rich, and sweet like candy. very richly hoppy. not as citrusy or floral in taste as in smell, but it tastes like you are chewing on the hops themselves, with some grass or celery thrown in. has a combination of sweet and bitter that may be like grapefruit with sugar on top. well-balanced to rich toasty malts.
