Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Musty pine aroma, golden medium body with plenty of C-Hops, adequate lacing throughout the sample. A strong royal recipe that even Party Boy would approve.

Draught. Coppery color with lots of splotchy lacing. Woddy hop aroma. Cannabis flavors. Slick, oily mouthfeel. Not bad.

Draught Medium, dense yellowish head, over deep-golden beer. There is a strange, off-aroma in the nose. Some speak of garlic, I think of insectoid. And some hops, of course, the cat-piss (valerian) ones. The Summit - or the Nugget?. In the taste, I get the garlic clearly myself. Something wrong there, and it destroys all the fun. Astringent MF, going with the taste. Ouch - misser for this sample.

Sample at Oggi’s Mission Valley location (originally rated 4/12, mistaken for an Oggi’s beer). This beer pours a mostly clear yellow-gold color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes slowly. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Citrus and hops aroma with a hint of spice. Medium-bodied with flavors of piney hops and spice, plus some grapefruit. Very little malt is present for balance. The finish is slightly astringent hops and citrus with a lingering hops aftertaste. Above average, and would be much better if it were more balanced.

Transparent amber with fizzy off white head and some spotty lacing. Bread and citrus on the nose. Nice malty back-bone with a balanced presence of hops. Nice crisp bitter finish

Pours a hazy deep straw with huge white head. Great lacing. Aroma is huge spicy hops. Smells like Chinook before you put them into the pot. Lovely. Flavor is high hops and decent malt. Nice west coast 2ipa. Love Green Flash.

Flaske. Rigtig fin duft af blomster og citrus, men meget mild i smagen. Næsten sart. En kende overrasket over at den ikke havde mere at byde på. En af aftenens mindre gode øl.
