Marsiblursi (1631), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 4, 2008 Updated: May 24, 2009(Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD) Pours light amber with a small off white head. The aroma is medium to heavily hoppy, medium to heavily malty and a bit ester-ish with tones of orange, tea, lime, resin, lychee, mild mango, hints of flowers, caramel, toast, almond paste, peach, cocktail cherries, cheese, some yeast and a medium alcohol warmth. The flavour is medium malty and medium to heavily hoppy with tones of resin, floral/mild pine, citrus – mostly orange peel, lime and some grapefruit, star fruit, mango, toast and caramel. The mouthfeel is clean, a bit harsh and peppery with a super dry finish. Medium to full afterbitterness with a spicy sting. Some alcohol coming through in the flavour as well. Bitter hops, some light fruits and alcohol lingers. Medium to full bodied. Nice but not super special. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Apr 4, 2008 Bottle@vinens verden,Odense: Pours gold/copper with a creamy white head. Aroma is hops mainly - a lot of grass & fruit. Piney/grapefruit. Super funky fresh & bitter taste. Crispy. Wow - extremely quaffable. A bit of bread & caramel sweetness to balance it. Just about enough of everything! Woo hah - this brother got me in check! And the alcohol is totally anonymous! So impressed! shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 3, 2008 22oz bottle from BOTW, consumed fresh. Pour is copperish gold. head is thin layer of white lace, but very attractive. Aroma is very resiny, piney and fresh. I haven’t had a good hop bomb in a while and this aroma really excited me. The flavor is spicy and refreshing. I didn’t want to write all that much, I was busy enjoying the drinking experience. Madsnp (611), Odense C, Denmark Apr 3, 2008 Bottle. Light amber coloured with a nice white head. Aroma of pineapple, hubba bubba chewing gum and apples. Flavour of bitter grapefruit and bitter hops. Dry and bitter well made Double IPA. hombrepalo (748), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 3, 2008 22oz bottle thanks to Odeed. Poured a glowing amber color, some head and lacing. Aroma of floral hops and sweet malts. A creamsical candy taste. Very creamy body, lots going on here. Grapefruit, pine, sugars, hops, more hops. Alcohol well hidden but sneaked up on me, left me a bit numb. A truely enjoyable IIPA. PilsnerPeter (2598), Flushing, New York, USA Apr 2, 2008 Bottle: An orange beer with perfect clarity and a collapsing off white head. Oily hop/resiny aroma. Rich, but boring. Just homogeneous hop resins. Rich body; slightly slick. Flavor is piny hop resins. Not much depth to it. The finish is almost peppermint-like. It would satisfy a hop craving, but it’s lacking malt depth & other nuances to make it a complete ale. Perhaps I’m just being overly critical on IPAs lately... mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA Apr 1, 2008 soapy hop bitterness and all kinds of citrus and floral hop flavors. Smells and tastes like some fresh sticky bud. Very green, grassy and herbal. Lime, some orange and I wouldn’t have picked it up without reading it in another rating, but there is a hint of cilantro in there too. Definitely hop forward with just a malt backbone. bitterness is big but pretty round and smooth. Nice light but full mouthfeel. Carbonation is prefect to add a light body without being too strong. A really interesting, well crafted beer. Not perfect, but something somewhat new and well crafted. well done.
garthicus (1216), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 29, 2008 Shared with Harry & Alan. Orange colour, small head huge "Mango Skin" aroma (thanks Morenike) with a pine - tangy sweet flavour, hops and sweet too. Wonderful dry but sweet finish. Nice!
