craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Mar 28, 2008 bomber. very good IIPA out of the booming San Diego beer scene... solid hops throughout this beer from aroma to the finish.... the bitterness stay with you well after the finish. Overall this IIPA is well balanced... not too overpowering and not too weak. Sweet citrus powered hoppy aroma that could be a bit stronger.... maybe I need a fresher bottle. Excellent hop presence on the palate. Great color and 1" head. Great beer.... try one if you can get it. lane1222 (10), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 25, 2008 Tap. This high quality I-IPA knocked my socks off. I was surprised by its mild hoppiness and minimal alcohol heat. Some subtle malt came through in the taste. DuffMan (2723), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Mar 23, 2008 Pale orange, cloudy, thick frothy head. Zesty resinous herbal hop aroma. Heavy mouthfeel, sweet but simple malt, massive amounts of resinous bitter hoppiness. Very bitter, very dry, somewhat sticky. Not the best balance, but a very bold beer regardless. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA Mar 22, 2008 Bottle. Light amber color, hoppy nose, medium white head. Sweet body, hoppy, unusual hop flavors. A bit cloying with peppery alcohol. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 21, 2008 A very good IIPA. Aroma was nice but there is something off about this beer. Strong hops with not much else, but also dirt. Pour was a nice medium gold with a foamy 1 finger white head. The light color of this beer gives it away. This is a hop bomb with little regard to malt which is just the way I like them. Taste was strong bitter hops through and through but with the underlying dirt/dust taste. Strong bite on the back of the throat and sides of the tongue. Very thick mouthfeel but the strong carbonation coupled with the strong alcohol burn/hop bite lets me know I won’t be tasting food for a day. My taste buds are shot. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 21, 2008 22oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, grapefruit, pine, and citrus. Aroma is lightly sweet and floral. Poured amber with hints of orange and gold in color with a large, creamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Lightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, citrus, pine, grapefruit, and caramel. Medium body. Average, lightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, hoppy finish. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Mar 20, 2008 22oz oz bomber shared with hopson @ Coles. Huge kind bud hop aroma. Thought Hippy Ed the local supplier was in the bar. Sticky resiny pine tar hop thing going on. Nice citrus, grapefruit hop taste. Well balanced.
