Hazy golden orange color, not much head on this pour. Tastes of fruity hops, some honeyed malt, a touch of sweetness balances, stone fruits, citrus, bitterness does not come across as extreme. I’ve tasted this several times next to Port’s Hop 15, and while they are both beautiful in their own way, this is the more complex, fruity and aromatic of the two. Very enjoyable IIPA in which the bitterness does not obliteratte everything else. Alcohol is not noticeable in this one. joergen (8465), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Aroma of grapefruit and pine. Very sweet/sugary with a lot of tangy candy/pineapple. Ends with a fair amount of astringency. railcat1 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Pours a clouded orange gold with almost no white head. Even without the head, I still rate it what I do because of the color. Nose is strong with grass and perfumed tones. Did I say it was strong with grass? Just want to make sure. Flavor is nice, but a bit too vibrant, shall we say. It sings a bit too high in my mouth at first. Of course over time I either get used to it or it calms down. I am sure it’s that I get used to it. Thick floral hoppy flavor profile. It is nice, but kind of one-sided. Not massively complex, but who cares. It’s nice. Feel has a decent bubble to it and the liquid is fairly well bodied. Nice to drink. Could easy go on this all night. hayduke (1629), Eureka, California, USA

Nose of strong citrus and a medium mouthfeel. Flavor is mostly citrus hops, and it made me sneeze, the first time beer has ever done that. Long bitter finish. Alcohol quite noticeable. Great beer. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Bomber. Pours pale, translucent yellow/orange with a nice soapy white head. Strong hoppy aroma on this one. The summit hops stand out with a pungent, earthy aroma. Some garlic/onion characteristics are noticeable but not really distracting as they have been in other brews. Behind the pungent aroma is some sharp citrus, mostly oranges. Taste is exactly the same as the aroma. Medium bodied, drinkable, smooth bitterness. The hop flavor and aroma in this are different than most others in the style. This was a solid IIPA if not a standout. pleasesir (13), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 8, 2008 New to NYC, 22oz. From Spuyten Duyvil Grocery. Large foamy head that disappears quickly w/ no cap or lacing. Nice aroma, fresh/resiny slightly skunky (the good kind of skunk!). Very dry and quite bitter but sort of one dimensional, reminds me of some of the Slyfox Project offerings this year. Not really what I was hoping for in
an IIPA but worth a try.
