Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Poured a golden color into a pint. My buddy brought this back from California so I was happy to share with him. Smell is everything you expect in an DIPA, nice pine and floral hops, enticing citrus and tropical fruit. flavor didn’t dissapoint, tropical fruits came through, balanced with a sharp hops, citrus, all balanced by a distant malt backbone.

Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a decent sized off white head. Aroma is huge floral hops, grapefruit, mango, peach. Flavor is huge floral hops mango, peach, pine, cedar, caramel malt. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finishes with a huge blast of prickly hop bitterness. Fantastic.

Brought a bottle to Fralo’s in Leon Springs. Cloudy orange color with creamy head. Nose of grapefruit, lemons, pine and malts. Taste of creamy caramel malts mixed with the typical glorious flavors of a well built IPA. Not overly bitter on the finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden amber with creamy off-white head. Awesome retention. Aroma is pine needles, resiny, juniper berries, as well as definite fruitiness, some passion fruit, a toffee-like malt buried beneath , but more and more noticeable as it warms. Flavor is surprisingly balanced and light. Toasted toffee malt taste upfront, lots of floral and sharply bitter fruitiness and citrus – lemon, apricot, lime – throughout. Finish is slightly soapy citrus. Surprisingly, alcohol is not at all noticable. Strong bitterness lingers for a long while.

Pours hazy gold with a medium white head. Nose is intense grassy and floral hops. Flavor of strong grassy and floral hops with a finishing grapefruit hops note. Intensely bitter. Very limited malt background that only shows up as it warms, and then only towards the end. Endless bitter finish. Oh so good.
