Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

A Very nice bright, piney, citrusy hoppy aroma. Slightly long bitter lasting flavor that is quite big but not undrinkable, especially for the style. I’m somewhat surprised I could handle the 101 IBUs enough to finish this. Decent, but I prefer Dogfish Head’s 90 Minute IPA, if its available.

Cloudy orange color. Bubblegum and sweet citrus flavors. Surprisingly smooth for a double IPA. Requisite bitterness with some sugary sweetness on the finish. Not an overwhelmingly sugary flavor though. Good citrus fruit flavors as well.

101 IBUs?!? Yowza! A hophead’s delight, this ale has a golden amber body with a tall head that pastes lacing to the sides of the glass. The aroma is strong with hoppy bitterness - grapefruit pulp & zest, orange blossoms, pine. Nice. It has a blistering, hot peppery mouthfeel. Nice. Some malt finally comes through in the taste, just enough to keep the lips from cracking. Nice. The finish is a prolonged bitter burning sensation. Nice. The alcohol level is hidden beneath it all. Non-hopheads may call this one dimensional. I call it very nice indeed.

This is an outstanding San Diego Pale Ale (AKA IIPA) which features a strong but smooth hoppy mouth feel behind a pleasant (for a hophead) aroma. This beer is a staple at home on tap (since they sell 5G kegs to locals).

Samplded in a 22 oz bottle. Very rich amber color and strong hops in taste for a storng strong IPA. Alcohol is smooth for a 9% beer and pour releases a very smooth fresh aroma full of hoppy goodness.

Light amber/orange color. Smells of piney, citrusy, fruity hops. Wow! Very bitter. Piney, floral, great IPA! Amazing!

Copper orange with a large frothy head. Nice lacing throughout. Flavor is some malt with obvious strong hops. Slightly piney, but a little too much bitterness for my taste. Nice thick mouthfeel. Good, but I prefer Racer 5 or Stone over this IPA.

22 oz. bomber in Fresno’s BevMo. [if you can believe that!] Rich golden pale amber. Very full fluffy head. Thick lacing all the way down. Aroma doesn’t seem quite as strong as the West Coast IPA, [but ;-P I have another to try again!] Tastes very good, Malty as expected with a big beer, but sharp hop bitterness present as well. If I am able to get this on a regular basis. [please BevMo] Then this will be in regular rotation. I’ve seen that this is available much farther East than i would normally expect, Go San Diego, and to the domination of the west coast hop head migration! Recommended
