curly (548), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jun 16, 2009 pours clear amber with a thick white head. Sweet pineapple and other citrus aroma. Very crisp hop taste, not overly bitter or sweet but both, and balanced very nicely. Thanks to Butters, this is truly excellent. harbuck76 (127), El Cajon, California, USA Jun 8, 2009 22 oz. Pours a pale amber with medium white head that sticks around for awhile. Nice sticky lacing.Aroma is bursting with fresh citrus, pine hops. taste was bitter grapefruit with a slight carmel malt backbone. Nice and oily. Yet another great example of a west coast dipa. Well done. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a thick off-white head that laces the glass. Aroma was mostly hoppy with fresh pine trees, citrus, grapefruit and some grass. Flavor was sharply bitter with piney resin, grapefruit, citrus, orange and light caramel with a medium body and has a dry and bitter finish. bigrond (1043), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 4, 2009 Aroma is unreal. Hops fills the room as you pour it. goes down smooth as silk. I loved it. Another winner from Green flash. tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA Jun 3, 2009 Nicely crafted IIPA. The aroma is earthy hops, some fruityness. the appearance is an attracive red/gold hazy color, white head. The flavor is crazy, citrusy, lemony, bready-like and malty. Very nice. Clear distinction between the aromatic hops, and the hops used to flavor the beer. Finish has a sweet residue on the palate, but is dominated by a grapefruit citrus flavor, which is enduring. Medium mouthfeel. Very nice IIPA. mcmd (132), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jun 2, 2009 Bomber into pint glass. Pours a clear golden orange with a thin-medium size white head which lasts. Golden raisins, grapefruit, pineapple, honey in the aroma. Flavor is sweet malt, apricot, pineapple, and grapefruit hop profile. NIce and smooth at the finish. An interesting IIPA - different than most. Slipstream (734), USA May 27, 2009 Tried this from a cask at Rattle’n’Hum. Fine herbal and floral aroma. Pretty dry flavor, but floral too, can taste grapefruity hops and malt. The bitterness brings it close to the edge. It is a little harsh, but still very good. Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA May 24, 2009 On tap at the brewery in Vista. Pours a clear, darker golden body with a finger-width, dense, off-white head that dissipates slowly and remains nicely laced. Aroma of piney citrus and sweet floral hops. Not quite as intense as I was expecting, but abundant. Flavor is resiny and oily pines along with more floral citrus. Some caramels come in to balance this out before a dry, semi-long grassy finish. Palate is light to medium bodied and pretty slick and oily. Overall, a solid DIPA that doesn’t really scream "over the top," but rather seems to focus on its balance. Tasty.
