"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. Itís all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

On tap @ Chuckís 85th. Pours light golden amber with super thin head. Very faint aroma of hops. Taste is sticky sweet, resinous hops with well balanced malt. Hops are surprisingly in check for a SD IIPA, but I guess thatís why they came up with Palate Wrecker. Really balanced for the style. The sweetness does hint at the strength, but kinda nice in a world of crazy hopped IPAs.

Pours cloudy amber with orange hue. Thin head and light lacing. Aroma is orange and citrus floral hops, pine nuts, a distinct yeast note, and wheat/grass in there as well. Flavor is a massive hops kick in the mouth. Pine, citrus, licorice, clove, basil, honey and pepper. Mouthfeel is alcoholic, astringent, and bitter. This is a great example of DIPA. Thank you, Sir! May I have another!

Dark orange, thin head. Clean hops aroma, some pine and citrus. Bitter evergreen, resin, hint of citrus peel, then an intriguing bright note (tangerine lollipop?). Long and dry on the finish.

Shared bomber, shaker glass. Murky medium brown. Slick, bitter malty palate covers the high ABV. Not something I would drink a lot of but I enjoyed it.

Pours clear amber-orange with a medium beige head, good retention, very fine lacing. Strong delicious pine resin aroma, with notes of biscuit, and grass. Medium body, crisp, dry. Mildly sweet, medium-strong bitter finish, with pine lingering for some time. Big and brash, itís all about the hops but it has enough malt to hold it together nicely.

Draft. Deep gold. Slight head. Aroma of rubber, diesel, citrus, grass, slight pine. Taste is grassy, bit of onion, orange zest, sweet, cereal. Bit of booze burn. Slightly sticky finish. Not bad for a DIPA.

On tap at Parry's. Pours an orange-honey body and a thin white head. Makes a good lace down the glass. Aroma is of pine resin and big hops. Tastes of fresh hops (a couple of varieties!). This is a very bitter IPA. Delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
