Nose of grapefruit, lemons, pine and malts. Taste of creamy caramel malts mixed with the typical glorious flavors of a well built IPA. Not overly bitter on the finish. Very nice. Poured an amber color with an off white head. Big pine aromas that reminded me of being in upstate NY for Christmas with all the fresh cut pine bows. The flavor found pine, apricot, and a slight earthiness. Moderate sweetness up front with a mild bitter ending. Medium body and smooth. Real nice IIPA!! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 11, 2007 Crystal clear golden appearance with large soady display of head. Vewry limited in carbonation bubbles rising to the top but when they do they are a large size. Aroma is a full array of fruit and pine tree. Flavor is strong with a nice touch of grapefryit and fresh green hops. Alos has a real bitter aftertaste that is sure to only be enjoyed by the most faint of heart. jcr (1195), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 11, 2008 Bottle. Straightforward double IPA with little depth. Light orange body. Thick, frothy, white head that diminishes. The aroma is mostly hoppy with notes of resin and rubber. Hints of toasted grain and bread dough. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, smooth texture, sticky finish. Alcohol comes forward in the finish as the sweetness diminishes and the bitterness sticks around. Moderately acidic in the finish as well. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Golden amber color with a thin white head. Soapy hop nose, more like a pale ale than a double IPA. Flavor is very hoppy, citrusy hops and a tangy dryness. Not bad but not overly remarkable. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 18, 2007 Pinecone. That’s what this beer is all about. The aroma is the twin of one of those pine tree air fresheners, the piniest smell of all time. Extremely clear golden color with a huge head. The palate is full and sticky. The taste is tons of pine, huge hops and that is about it. This is different, but unbalanced. dm9831 (1168), Monee, Illinois, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Feb. 2007 - Pour was golden orange color with small head and little lacing. Strong fruity aroma. Initially, the flavor was strong sweet citrus with sweet malts as well, very little bitterness. As it warmed, pine also showed up, as did the bitterness. Very fruity, citrusy, almost to the point of being overdone. An ok, not great beer.
