"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Tasted on January 13, 2013: A: Pours a chestnut color. Has a good lacing and has close to an inch of foam. Foam stays for awhile. S: Strong smell of citrus and pine. Don’t smell much else. Hops are smelt in there too. T: Very hoppy in the beginning, but not overly hoppy. Slightly sweet in the end with very strong pine notes. M: Medium heaviness on the tongue. Still can taste the pine. O: Not as hoppy as I was expecting for an Imperial, but still quite enjoyable. I enjoyed the taste of pine. Serving type: bottle

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Strong aromas of pine, sweet peach, tropical fruit, pineapple, some malty caramel, touch of onion. Taste is strong pine, up front herbal resin, some tropical fruit. Really dry and spicy finish. Complex.

Bottle. Golden color. Aroma is strong, with citrus, booze, pine and peach. Taste is a real hop bomb, with lots of citrus, pine, caramel, booze and a nice hop punch. Great beer.

Bomber to glass. Clear golden-orange with nice head and lacing. Fruity citrus pine aroma not very strong. Hop forward with some bitterness in aftertaste. Great double IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Clear, golden, medium head and good lace. The nose is a little reductive or dank. Maybe too much pine for me. Very rich palate. Dry to off fry. Not sour and very bitter. Dense and long. Loads of hops and malt. Lacks polish and style.

(Green Flash Imperial IPA) Bottle 650 ml at home, served into a big tulip, ABV 9% Deep golden orange colour on the body, tall and thick white head with great retention. Aroma of tropical fruits, caramel, pine. Taste is nicely bitter albeit nothing extreme, with fruity hints, pine, caramel. Medium body with good carbonation. Standard DIPA but highly drinkable.
