COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

copper/orangey color, head is almond colored. nose is initially strong on the pine and grapefruit, slight caramel nose with a hint of scorched sugar. Flavor is intially loaded with caramel and hints of scorched sugar. THe hoppiness is surprisingly subdued in the flavor. The hops are definitely there, but this one is dominated by the caramel malts.

Nose of fermented figs, spruce and blue cheese. Pours medium gold. Flavour is sharp with notes of candied burnt orange peel, papaya and pine needles. And a hint of baked beans. Finishes bitter and spicy with a little honey, some pepper and some spruce. Nice.

Grapefruit, pine, toffee aroma. Thick foam, spilled out of bomber. Nice lacing. Resinous thick mouthfeel, caramel, hoppy, but not overpowering. Alcohol super hidden. Quite excellent! (From State College)

Bottled. Deep golden with a small, white head. Very grassy, hoppy aroma. Sweet and malty flavour with grassy bitterness. Hay and/or dry grass.

On cask at the Liar’s Club in Mission Beach, CA. Pours a hazy orange color with a large frothy head. Huge citrusy hops aroma. Very overpowering. Very hoppy flavor. Some heavy malts as well. Chewy with some citrus notes as well. Definitely an enjoyable IPA.

Golden/yellow pour with a decent one finger head. Good retention. Average lacing. Caramel malty sweetness on the nose and pine/citrus hops. Flavor starts off with the malt and finishes with the hops. Good balance. A little off-flavor that I can’t really put my finger on. Not too distracting, however. I would say that it lacks the overly hoppy & malty characteristics of the DIPA, unfortunately. A nice, quaffable beer but I definitely expected more from this brewery.

Bomber from Sam’s. Pours a really nice hazy orange with a frothy one inch head. Great retention and lace. Looks gorgeous. Fresh pine and citrus aroma. Could be a bit more fragrant. Medium sweet taste with a dominant bitter pine finish. Thick sticky palate. Nice IIPA but not one of my favorites.

Recieved in trade from 5000. Thanks! Pours hazy orange with rapidly dissipating, off-white head. Oddly, I can’t smell muchbut some metal- perhaps from the cap? Maybe soap residue in the glass? Very faint malt and grapefruit. Lies heavy and bittern on the tongue (that’s what she said!). Nice, scrubbing finish. Residual sweetness. Very tasty. This is out of a 22oz so I will add as this warms.

A very nice IIPA, the hop profile is limited to summit and nugget hops according to the bottle and they are used together nicely. This is a bit of a palate bruiser, but a very decent IIPA and for the cost no complaints here!

Poured on draft. Pours a nearly translucent copper with a white head of foam. Aroma is all pine and little fruit. Some herbal qualities come through as well, but they are minimal. For a double IPA, this beer is sort of lackluster. All bitter and no flavor.
