Nose has a sweet malt aroma, pushed by the hop floral aroma, lime like in its crispness, delightful sniff. Start has a decent malt presence, hops provide a huge spicy bite, top is moderate in feel. Finish has a strong acidity, the hops potent in their spiciness, sweet, bitter aftertaste welds itself to your palate, excellent beer, and a delight for hop heads. caesar (3035), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands

Pour is copperish gold. head is thin layer of white lace, but very attractive. Aroma is very resiny, piney and fresh. I haven’t had a good hop bomb in a while and this aroma really excited me. The flavor is spicy and refreshing. I didn’t want to write all that much, I was busy enjoying the drinking experience. Suttree (2752), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2008 Coppery orange, very thin white head. Big flowery hop aroma. Flavor is just a hint of maly sweetness, with a big, piney, stickey, resiny, woody hop finish. We noted a slight vegetal note as it warmed - maybe kind of a green pepper, maybe? perhaps? The IPA poured with a very white frothy head and a cloudy golden color. The intense hops flavors lingered with a slight bitterness. This is good example why I like IPA’S. It is hard to drink lagers after having one of these. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Bottle. Pours with small fairly dense off white head, retains small layer and leaves it down the sides of glass. Body is clear and amber. Aroma is light malt, with heavy dose of hops. I detect citrus, citrus rind, grapefruit and maybe honeydew, as well as some pepper, a touch of sweet floral, and something I can’t define yet. Might be slightly doughy as well. Medium bodied with a slightly oily and sticky texture and lively carbonation. The flavor is long in duration while being lightly sweet and heavily bitter. This has the longest lasting resiny finish and the aftertaste is just phenomenal. I may have to try another bottle before I get too crazy here, but this has more than just a huge dose of hops, it has a huge dose that ends up with an interesting flavor, may be the blend of summit and nugget...i don’t know. Good beer though, maybe a little too sweet at times but everything else is good and has a nice balance. Perhaps on the next bottle I will figure out what I’m missing in the aroma.....as I take another sniff it might be old shoes. Hmmmm............................................. I’m back. I didn’t finish the bottle yet and was doing so while looking at the other reviews (i refuse to look first as I think it may skew my ratings) and I found one that mentions coconut. I think I might have missed that but I agree it is there. Not the fake mailibu rum and sun tan lotion coconut, but the real unsweetened coconut. That may be what I was missing. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2006 Bottle. Rich amber pour. Sturdy tanned froth with larger collection of bubbles off-center. Nose is strong oily hops, pine, citrus oils and orange peels. Taste is big pine and citrus, flowery notes, light hop spice, chewy malts and caramel. Touches of maple syrup as well. Some tropical fruit as well. There’s a mint or menthol feel coming through towards the back end. Body is oily and creamy with a medium-full overall feel and a moderate carbonation feel. Sticky as well. Finishes with big orange peel, grapefruit juice, pine sap, pine needles and citrus oils. Very big and very West Coast IPA. Me likey!!! Dorwart (1832), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 16, 2006 Nice large white head of fine bubbles. Light carbonation. Huge spruce and piney hops in the aroma. Smells like you have your nose stuck into a fresh cut christmas tree. Hint of stinky cheese in the background with some light malts. Color is a bright orange. More pine and spruce in the flavor with a late swallow dry puckering bitterness. Tangy and resinous. A little sweetness but not a lot of malt body. Hint of watermelon rind in their also. Yes, I am weird. Nice warming from the alcohol. Finish is strong bitterness and lingering alcohol and pine needles. Take a bite off a white pine tree and it will be similar to this brew. This is not a bad thing though. Just a huge hopfest of a brew and one that should be enjoyed fresh.
