COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

A fabulous example of the West Coast imperial IPA style this one was actually not as much of a hop bomb as I was expecting. I find that a good thing; it lets other aspects shine through instead of be dominated.

Aroma / Appearance - The copper transparent body is engulfed by a pillowy soft white head. Clear lines of lacing give it life as it settles. The aroma of fresh rose petals melds with oranges and a hint of malt to form a near perfect combination for my nose.

Flavor / Palate - Creamy caramel hits the tongue first followed by orange and chocolate. Lodged in the back on the tongue the bitterness takes root as it settles in the throat. Mellow and drinkable for the style I would not mind having this again - it’s a good thing that I can now buy it locally.

Nice deep gold color. Stinky nose of garlic, onion. Malty core, a bit of grapefruit pith, but mostly garlic and green bell pepper. Had a small pour from a neighbor in our weekly guy’s beer night and pour out what I had left. I guess this is the Summit? Not my thing...sure some love this, but I really hate this.

Bottle at home. Clear orange pour, huge foamy almost white head. Aroma is grassy, citrus, some grapefruit, sweaty and some pine. Flavor is quite bitter with loads of hops. Well balanced, slightly sharp in the finish but very clean and well drinkable. Nice brew.

Pours hazy orange colour with nice two finger white head. Lots of lacing on the glass as the head disappears. Aroma is floral, citrus, hops, grapefruit, piny. Taste is pretty much the same with a subtle sweet malt backbone, very well balanced. Medium body, Nice hop bitterness.

Lagerboy (705) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 20, 2013
Mostly clear light copper orange, foamy off-white head settles and fades. Earthy perfumed hop aroma. Floral herbal bitter spicy hops dominate the taste, some farmyard, sweet malt and citrus is subdued. Average carbonation, medium-full bodied, aggressively hopped. Spruce, grapefruit and some caramel malt become more prevalent as it warms. ABV well hidden. Bitter hoppy finish. DNFL (Definately Not For Lagerboys)

Somewhat dank orange citrus flavor to this one, has an odd smell to it that I can't put my finger on. The taste is very good though - very bitter and hoppy. Poured from 22oz bottle to maudite glass. Great beer overall, just didn't love smell

22oz bottle. clear gold with a small, whipped white head. sweet, candy-like, tropical, citrus, juicy fruit gum aroma. flavor has notes of sweet tangerine, candy notes, citrus and yellow juicy fruit gum. easy to drink, light palate with no abv presence. great 2ipa! good nugget hops.
