22 oz’er ... pour a nice light, bright orange, with a massive airy, rocky head. of white foam. Pure hop nuggets assault the olfactory glands on the first whiff ... wow ... quite the tease for the hophead like me. As I begin to drink it, the utter oily, resiny hoppiness starts pouring down my gullet before the first bit of liquid touches the lips. Surprisingly the beer itslef is less brutally hoppy than all that aroma suggests. Instead, it’s nice and even-keeled with a decent citrus hop flourish, but without being overwhelming. Still a lot of resiny, oily hop here, but blended into a light-to-the-lips beer. Wow. (#2758, 3/18/2007)

Hazy but clear amber yellow color. Big pillowy head. Looks nice. Icy lace. Looks medium bodied and light colored for an Imperial IPA.
Beautiful West Coast hops. Citrusy and not overwhelming. Sweet biscutiy malt balance. Really really nice. The mildness is unexpected.
Excellent citrusy hop taste which is tart and fresh. A bit spicy, more woody as it warms. It’s imperial but not off-balance or extreme at all.
Creamy and a little thick. Somewhat bubbly with a pleasant sting on the way down. It’s a terrifice, balanced Imperial IPA. It’s not too hoppy, not hop-fetishistic.

Oct 29, 2009 aroma is perfect balance of lightly bready malt and shadowy grapefruit. appearance is sunny translucent yellow. flavor is bracing bitterness -- lemon/lime and more grapefruit. more bready malts in aroma come out as beer opens. this beer is perfectly balanced yet the hops remain obnoxious -- as id like them to.

Oct 28, 2009 Bomber bottle, pours a light hazy yellow orange beer with a thin off white head. Aroma is piny grapefruit awesomneness. Flavor is sweet malty piny grapefruit. Solid well balanced delicious beer. This is very close to their ipa but wayy better. Very very nice! Thanks J tiki

Oct 13, 2009 Appearance: Pours up moderately hazy, deep copper hued body with a full inch of off-white froth on top.
Smell: Chilled grapefruit juices garnished with slivers of citrus pith and shredded flowers paired with a modest hint of pine astride pale malts displaying hints of sugar cookies. It’s a quality scent.
Taste: Pale malts liberally flecked with sweet hints of cookie dough and biscuit crumbs. Medium sweetness overall. The mixture of fully American C-hops presents leafy floral and light pines tastes, as well as a bold citrus character that’s juicy, fruity, and a bit citric. Medium-high bitterness. Finishes dry and bitter with those citric tones brazenly sliding into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is a bit oily, a bit chewy, even.
Drinkability: Green Flash’s West Coast IPA is amply malty and rather well hopped, so it should please hopheads and lovers of IPA’s. I know I found it to be enjoyable.

Oct 13, 2009 Updated: Oct 19, 2009clear amber color, nice off white head that quickly receeds, lots of lace. nose of citric hops, touch of maltiness. flavor of citrus hops, caramel, mostly hops. creamy mouth feel, but mostly bitter hoppy finish. a very enjoyable experience, with well hidden alcohol content. sampled @ family liquors in homewood. my 50th DIPA rating.

Oct 12, 2009 Hazy orange amber with big, foamy off-white head / Nose of orange, grapefruit, weed, pine / Medium body, creamy and moderately biting, with good malt/hop balance and long, sharp hop finish / Mellow, elegant flavors of orange, grapefruit, cut pine, resin, and weed / A mellow and elegant 2ipa.
