COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Transfer from BA review on 8-18-13- Poured from bomber (bottled 4/11/13) into a snifter Appearance – Pours a very hazy orange-amber color with a small half finger white head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass and some patchy foam on the top of the brew. Smell – The aroma is on the sweeter side with a good deal of tropical fruits of mango and tangerine. Mixed with these smells are a little bit of caramel and a bit of breadiness. There is a hoppy smell of a grapefruit and floral nature as well. While all these aromas are very nice there is a very little bit of an astringent aroma mixed within slightly taking away from the niceness of the aroma. Taste - The taste begins sweeter of caramel and tropical fruits with a moderately light bready taste upfront. Mixed with these base flavors of the brew, there is a grapefruit and pine hop flavor that is present upfront. The grapefruit and pine gains strength as the taste advances and is joined by some grassy taste more toward the middle of the taste. Toward the end, the fruity flavor of the brew grow a bit stronger along with a rather strong and bitter pine flavor ramping up to its max accompanied and a little bit of alcohol coming to the tongue. A light earthy flavor joins the pine, grapefruit, and grassy hop tastes to, in the end, leave a nice mix of bitter hop mixed with a sweeter tropical fruit flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly creamier and thicker side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The lower carbonation and thicker body really accentuate the mix of hop and fruit well all while suiting the abv of the brew making it a slower sipper. Overall – Other than the slightly off nose, this was a very nice imperial IPA. It’s a bit on the sweeter side, but all comes together at the end of the taste to leave a satisfyingly pleasant taste on the tongue.

Extremely strong hoppy aroma, skunky and citrusy. Pours clear orange with a white head. Steering hop flavor with a malty backbone, finishes smooth and bitter.

22 oz bottle from Whole Foods in Hillsboro, OR. Aroma is piney, resinous, and lightly grassy. Mouthfeel is crisp, with an impressive bite from the hop bitterness and carbonation. Has a strong malt backbone to perfectly balance out the massive hop profile. This beer is ridiculously easy drinking for such a high gravity ale. One of my all-time favorites!

Poured from a 22oz from Whole Foods. Color is a bit cloudy. Aroma is definitely hoppy, I get mostly woody, musty almost with floral hints. Taste is a classic IPA, difference here is this one masks the 9.4%. Finish is slightly sweet/bitter. Very well balanced!

Tasted from a bomber. It poured a hazy golden amber with a frothy white head and minimal lacing. Nice hop aroma with a hint of lemon zest. Well balanced hop taste with a touch of bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Citrus and floral aroma. The palate is sticky and resinous. Flavor was strong and hoppy, but surprisingly it was less bitter than I expected for a 101 IBU beer. Very drinkable for such a big beer.

Pours cloudy amber with orange hue. Thin head and light lacing. Aroma is orange and citrus floral hops, pine nuts, a distinct yeast note, and wheat/grass in there as well. Flavor is a massive hops kick in the mouth. Pine, citrus, licorice, clove, basil, honey and pepper. Mouthfeel is alcoholic, astringent, and bitter. This is a great example of DIPA. Thank you, Sir! May I have another!

Dark orange, thin head. Clean hops aroma, some pine and citrus. Bitter evergreen, resin, hint of citrus peel, then an intriguing bright note (tangerine lollipop?). Long and dry on the finish.
